You Are a Plankton in a Hugeee Pond in Psychology – I love the program here, but unless you go out of your way, you will not make your degree worth much. You have to fight to enroll in the classes and with thousands and thousands of other students, making yourself stand out is difficult. Getting involved in research is pretty easy and the BEST way to do it. The only thing is, there is little information provided and you have to be willing to work. Advising isn't helpful, but the name of UNC is a great way to get your foot in the door (plus the Office of Undergraduate Research rocks, but not one uses it). If you are willing to put in extra hours and work very hard as an unpaid research assistant, you will go far in the program. Get involved early and if you want to be a psychologist and will put in the extra work, this will get you there.
