Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Chapel Hill is the epitome of a college town and has everything a college student could ask for. If you like to salsa dance into the wee hours of the morning, you can. If you want to grab a beer and watch a game with hundreds of fellow students, go right ahead. UNC is not the only school in the area: Duke, NC State, and North Carolina Central University are all close by. The Robertson Scholars bus transports students between UNC and Duke free of charge. In a state that has a ton of universities, colleges, and community colleges, there’s always somewhere to go and something to do.

Of course, if you’re not interested in seeing a sporting event or partying, you can always see a movie or go shopping in one of the many nearby shopping malls. The Streets at Southpoint is one of the largest malls on the East Coast, complete with over 70 stores, dozens of restaurants, and a Cineplex. A&E ranked Chapel Hill the third best place to live on the East Coast based on the diversity of the town, the friendliness of the people, location, opportunity, and educational facilities. It’s no wonder that several publications, including Sports Illustrated, have dubbed Chapel Hill “the ideal college town.”

Awesome

The town of Chapel Hill has many attractions. There are man restaurants, bars, clubs, shops, etc. on Franklin Street to entertain yourself with. It's an extremely safe campus, I have never had any issues with safety here. There are plenty of intramural sports to participate in and attending varsity sporting events are amazing, especially men's basketball. Overall, everyone is very friendly and it is a fun time in addition to the fantastic education.
