Health & Safety:
There are isolated incidents of course, but I never felt unsafe even leaving after a long night at the library.

Fantastic views when the warm Carolina sun is out in the early fall and beginning of spring.

Guys & Girls:
Girls seem very friendly and willing to meet many others. The guys seem like typical guys, and are loud and talkative.

The weather in Charlotte is a good mix of all four season, and it rarely snows. No one likes rain, but if you walk to class then you can always catch a bus or trolley that takes you around campus, which is really convenient! If you live on campus, the furthest you'll have to walk to class is around 15 minutes.

I never really had any problems with the computers on campus. The library is huge so there were plenty of them there, and laptops are available for checkout (but those do get harder to come by around finals time). Printing was easy and reasonably priced, can be deducted from student account. Wireless was also easily accessible.

The athletics at UNCC are continuing to improve. Everyone is very excited for the very first football game to be held this coming August, which will bring the athletic dept. to a whole new level. I really enjoyed going to the basketball games, we've had good teams throughout the years and I loved cheering in the student section. There are lots of intramurals to choose from, as well as a great workout facility and group fitness classes.

We have an excellent energy engineering department. New building that is awesome. I haven't spent the summer here, plan on working back home. I will be moving off campus after this semester, but campus life has been great for making friends.

Parking is far off, so you need to have everything out of your car. A few students have had their cars broken into at the parking garage.

Always something going on. A large selection of students to hang out with.

There's a very large focus on trying to get a football team going there. The main focus in on basketball. The issue is really, the school needs more room for parking, dorms, and updated sports facilities that service not just the teams. I fear that if a football team is installed at UNCC that will only further diverge the school away from it's original intentions to be an academic institution providing services to a very large student body. UNCC really just does not have a good grasp on allocating funds sustainably for the benifit of the students.
College Senior 2013-03-11T17:39:05Z
I feel that UNCC tries to be diverse but ultimately it just a suitcase school with a lot of people interested in only studying business. UNCG is ten times more diverse and successfully so. UNCC should use them as an example on how to provide services to students to draw more well suited applicants for a more diverse study body.

Students appear to be fairly involved in school athletics. I am not.

Guys & Girls:
The university is very diverse, you can find someone of every race/ethnicity wherever you go. The people I've met so far are pretty decent.

I am very satisfied with my education as an exercise science major so far. My program is built to prepare me for grad school, as I want to become a physician's assistant after grad school. My program requires most of the pre requisites I need for grad school. My professors also are very involved with us, and are willing to help us find internships and connections that will help us in the future in our field.

Housing at UNCC is amazing. As a freshman I had a single room and shared a suite with 3 other girls. As a sophomore, I had a single room again, and shared my suite with one other girl. The dorms have plenty of space as long as you fill out your housing application early. They are also affordable for the value you are getting

Nightlife at UNCC exists, but you really have to go out and look for it. Down town is mainly for people 21 and up although there are a few clubs that allow 18+. There are parties in campus apartments, which are nice, but that is about it. If you aren't in to house parties and kick backs, then you will be at the same 2-3 clubs every weekend. This is not an issue for me because I am not a big party goer and I normally don't go out much more than once or twice a month.

I cane to UNCC because they had my major which is Exercise Science. I am a sophomore now and I am finally getting into my major classes, which is exciting. I love my professors, and they provide so many resources such as office hours, or meetings. They seem to really have my best interest at heart. All of my professors at UNCC are very reasonable, and if you put in the effort, you will be successful, or they will do everything they can to make you successful as you move forward in the class.

THEY WILL GET YOU! Constant parking lot monitoring and hefty fine rates ensure that campus parking is on a need-to-park basis. $410 was the most recent commuter/resident parking services tag fee for cars to park on campus. Cluttered parking lots, crowded rows, and tolled parking decks are a nightmare to some. Even worse is the meter maids that intentionally seek out ticketing regarding even the smallest of miscues involving a parking space.

I won't be moving off campus until Fall 2013, but all of my friends have been off-campus since Fall 2012. All in all, there are certain housing assignments with which to avoid and those that come highly recommended. Most of the better ones are all-inclusive and even within appropriate walking distance of class. There is even one that isn't within walking distance, but is along one of the routes of the free campus shuttles that go through the campus. All-in-all, off-campus housing is pretty legitimate.
College Junior 2013-03-05T21:30:25Z
Call me racist, though i am not, but in regards to trying to teach me particular engineering techniques and practices, i will most certainly choose to learn from a native English speaker. Also, when trying to ride the campus-provided shuttle across campus, bring a mask or deodorizer because even if the weather is cold outside, there will always be an undeniable stench from some students. The lack of hygiene is appalling.
College Junior 2013-03-05T21:25:08Z
Depending on which type of transportation you plan to take, make sure to plan accordingly. When taking a car, be sure to not get caught in the long traffic lines at the poorly-executed traffic lights between key hours of "on-campus rush hour" traffic. When taking the bus, always expect some sort of delay, regardless if you're on time to the bus stop or ten minutes early. The early morning timings, however, are spot on.
College Sophomore 2013-03-05T04:09:55Z
I've meet so many new friends within the program. Everyone is nice and the professors are very open and friendly. You need to work hard, but it's worth it.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
