It's a great school just needs to work on a few things

Guys & Girls:
The guys and girls range quite a bit because of how large the school is. There are all types here, from business professional to country to preppy to goth/alternative types, etc. etc.
I would say there are better pickings for the guys.
There are good looking men but a lot of men in my classes are much older or married as they are returning or graduate students.
There are lots of jock guys though so if that's your thing then it may be perfect for you.

There are a good amount of options- Starbucks, Bojangles, Chic-Fil-A, etc. It is a little bit higher on average to eat on campus.

There have been few times (I can count on two hands) when I have needed an umbrella on campus - the weather is pretty good! Classes have yet to get cancelled this school year (it's well into the second semester) and we've had a few days where the weather was questionable, which was frustrating.

There are few spaces with computers on campus -- just the library primarily; however, there are at least a table or two of computers on the first 4 floors, which can be helpful when it comes time for finals and such.

I switched majors after the first week of classes and within a half an hour, the academic advisor for the major within my school that I was trying to switch to emailed me back offering to meet with me and detailing classes I should be adding for the current semester. The advisors are there to answer questions and help whenever you need it. Classes are smaller than most large state universities and the teachers really do want you to do well!

I enjoy the Business Program. Challenging but good

UNCC has great weather due to its location in North Carolina. It is a very neutral state but you still get to see the seasons change through spring, summer, fall and winter.

There are plenty of options for people under and over 21. Uptown charlotte is only fifteen minutes away with countless bars, clubs, and restaurants. THere is something to do every night of the week.

Greek life is a very large influence on students and the community. They do a lot of community service and volunteering and require that their members maintain high grade point averages.

Living on campus is pretty good. I've lived in the suite styles and also the apartment styles so I've experienced the "upper class" of the dorms. I've stayed in Lynch which is an all freshman dorm and I had an excellent experience there. Miltimore is much quieter and not as much of a community as Lynch. The convenience is okay as far as location. It's definitely worth it because they're nicer than the high-rises. But in the high rises, I hear you meet a lot of people easier. Cost is okay. I'll be honest though, it's one of the reasons why I'm moving off campus to an apartment. Prices are increasing and it doesn't seem as worth it anymore, but definitely stay on campus at least one year to get the experience!

UNCC have saferide which you can call to pick you up late at night. Then they are the other buses that runs during the day. Buses also leaves the campus to the movie theatre and back

Freshman dorm where I am the building looks like it needs painting. I like that we can hang out on our floor and engage in good topics. I also think the rooms are more spacious than I first thought. Just don't overdo it and bring too much stuff. Depending on your courses, it really is only abot a 15 mins walk to most classes. The upperclassmen buildings are closer to the student union.

I have seen freshman get expelled for coming to the dorms intoxicated so I know they are pretty strict with this

I love the idea of the learning experience and the many organizations that you can access for help

UNC Charlotte is constantly upgrading. There are new dorms and more parking faacilities. It is also so easy to meet and maintain friends especially living oncampus. There are plenty places to eat day and night. I feel very safe here.
We are now embaking onto the football scene and there is so much excitement about that also. There is always something going on at this campus.

Transportation is very good around campus because of the several options. There are about 4 shuttle buses that go around campus in different routes all day. Also the "Safe Ride" shuttles transport people around campus until 2am. A lot of people bike around campus, but walking is always my choice to get around.
College Sophomore 2013-02-10T22:42:16Z
The weather in Charlotte is completely unpredictable. There can be a huge difference in the weather one week from the next. There are days when you will return to your room once or twice a day to change clothes to match the ever changing temperature. One positive fact is that when the smallest amount of snow appears and sticks all classes usually end. Also there are many shocking days when we get gorgeous weather outside.

At UNC Charlotte, frats and sororities are there mainly for social gain and networking opportunities. Other than that they are based on parties and other social events. They are not frowned upon by other students nor are they envied by others. The people involved absolutely love it and will try to recruit any chance they get. But it is not a huge deal here.

The 24hr library has hundreds of computers to your disposal. The library also has laptops that students can rent out for 24hrs for free. The laptops aren't the prettiest or newest, but they run very well and get the job done, as well as the desk tops in the library. There are also several computer labs including the 24hr MOSAIC lab. This is used mostly by the engineering majors who use the designing software for assignments. As far as WiFi goes there is a universal connection around campus that any student can connect to when out and about around campus. Also the residential halls have WiFi in the lobby areas. It still pays to have your own Ethernet cable or own WiFi connection for your own room for even more convenience.
College Sophomore 2013-02-10T07:36:12Z
I live in one of the highrises, which is the cheapest option. You have to time your showers right or you will get a cold one! There is always something going on here.

Health & Safety:
Very clean campus. Numerous authority figures are always present.
College Sophomore 2013-02-10T07:24:27Z
There are plenty of off campus complexes that are available. I have not lived off campus yet, but I plan on doing so in the future.

It is hot outside when the suns out, but when its not it feels pretty good. It rains quite often.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
