Professor Are Really Helpful. As long as you give it your best then most professors will help you to the best of their ability.

Labs & Library Crowded During Normal Class Hours. pretty packed from about 9a.m. to about 5 p.m. and during midterms and finals if you can bring your own laptop because its almost impossible to find a desktop.

Guys & Girls:
Don't Waste Your Time – There are plenty of girls at unc-charlotte, but don't waste your time on them. They like guys that are either total frat douche bags or have a ton of money.

Niner Nation – UNCC is a great school, especially when it comes to academics, but socially we lack school spirit and because of this campus live can get dull. However, if you take advantage of all the opportunities UNCC has to offer and get involved, you'll find that campus isn't as boring as someone make it out to be!
College Senior 2012-06-24T17:23:33Z
It all depends on your major, but for the most part academics are good. Make sure to stay up on all the requirements you need, and to ask for help. Most professors are good about helping as long as you ask for it.

I mean everyone has a laptop typically, and there's wifi in a lot of popular buildings on campus. Not all classrooms have it though.

There's the Gold Mine trolleys that pick people up on a fixed route. I never have to take them because I live close to my classes, but if you need to they can run a few minutes behind - so plan accordingly. There's also SafeRide if you need a ride at night.

I Like It Here – I like it here, once you get involved and meet people it's a great community.

I think I really have to find out more in my program. The advisor I had my freshman year seemed helpful, but somehow there were always roadblocks with her. Like she always forgot to let me in on something important I needed to know in the longrun. However there are many resources, and additional aid for the particular classes. Luckily there are many people to also help and give advice and not just one.

SAFE Ride for Late Nights – We have a bus transportation called SAFE ride, and all you have to do is call them, and tell where you are. They will pick you up anywhere on campus and go wherever on campus you need. Unfortunately, SAFE ride isn't always on time so it always depends when you call. Your waiting time could be none at all to about 15-20 minutes. This is also free. We also had cars to be rented on campus. $8 an hour and gas is for free. I don't usually ride the bus. Trolleys are always great. They run every stop every 15 minutes.

You will find just about any race at UNC Charlotte. There are many types of cultures and diversities. Everyone here is a family and equally and socially accepted. I don't think there would be challenges. Being introduced to everyone allows us to accept the differences and get to know each person universally.

It's There If That's Your Scene – if you're a party animal there's plenty of options

I can't comment on the bus system that runs off campus because I've never used it but on campus there's saferide. They're not always reliable.

You Can Never Be Bored – Charlotte is already a hot spot. There are local clubs and nice eateries in Charlotte so the city itself offers so much. On campus they have a gym, a pool, and a movie theater that is free for students. They even have basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer courts just for recreation.

It's Pretty Decent – For the most part it's pretty hot but we are in the south. So you'll experience some really hot days but when winter comes it's not to bad. We don't experience any snow all you have to worry about is heavy rain, but the buildings aren't that far apart and we have a trolley.

Exam Time: It's Better to Have a Laptop – The labs are not every crowded during the semester except around exam time. Of course everyone is in the labs and library cramming for their exams, that not unusual at all. I'm sure this happens on every campus during exam week.

It's Great! At UNCC they have the Gold Rush buses and Cat buses the can take you right into the heart of Charlotte and its very affordable!
College Junior 2012-06-08T14:46:18Z
It's OK, but It Could Be Better – The food we have campus is expensive but lacks the quality. For example in Crown Commons there could be a larger fruit selection and they should offer more juice than sodas. Crown Commons has a lot of unhealthy food, now trust I am not a "health nut", but I would like to see more healthier choices.

You will probably spend more gas and time looking for a parking spot. I usually park around 8am and I won't move my car unless I really have to or if I'm leaving. Get there early, don't wait till 30 mins before your class starts because everyone is doing the same.
College Senior 2012-06-03T00:18:05Z
Don't Waste Your Money With a Meal Plan – Meal plans force you to have to eat at the two dining facilities, which isn't worth it because they are usually crowded, the food is repetitive, and you probably won''t have time in between class. It is better to get declining balance, which is a certain amount of money you have per semester to use wherever, which is more convenient with time and location. And you can still use declining balance to pay yourself in the dining halls!

This place is known as a "commuter school" so it lacks school spirit, or at least it isn't the same energy as some other state schools might have. The school does try their best to provide activities for over the weekend, but majority of the people go home because they live so close. Maybe when the football team gets started in 2013, there will be a little bit more pride for the school.

Most computers are up to date depending on where you go. Every building has some sort of a computer lab, which can range from MACs to PCs. The wireless is easy to connect to but the only issue is that you have to keep on signing back in even if you walk from one building to another that is less than 5 feet away from each other.

They are all kept clean and available to you around the clock. The library, especially, is kept over for 24 hours for most days of the week, and the Student Activity Center is the hub for all sports and many activities, and also has some food stands that are open during lunch time.

At UNCC the Prospector was the best option in my opinion. They had a variety of choices for food that was reasonably priced. There was also a Chick-Fil-A located in proximity. The resident dining halls were acceptable and was a decent option if you had a meal plan. There a lot of restaurant franchises surrounding campus and you have plenty of options.

Drinking Is Preffered – I think the drug scene exists at UNCC but its not a major problem. I think its equivalent to the rest of society. If you want to take drugs, there is someone that will help you out. No one is trying to push it on you or anything. Drinking is more socially acceptable so therefore its more popular. You could go to a party every weekend and get alcohol if you wanted to.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
