Looking Forward to Being Accepted – I don't really know much about my program because I am currently pre-nursing and not yet in the program it self. But it is very competitive. About 200 people will apply to the program and only about 50 get it. Chemistry is kind of the weed out class for freshman. And it is nice that they have a schedule made out for us.

Park Off Campus – Parking passes run about $300 for on campus residents and $200 for off-campus commuters. There are shuttle buses that run all day around campus and the campus is small enough where walking isn't really a hassel

The UNCC population is fairly diverse. Lots of African American and white students, but also asians, indians, and international students make up a good part of the student body as well.
College Senior 2011-03-17T15:38:46Z
Off-Campus UNCC – There is a decent amount of option off-campus for housing. The prices are fair for being in a city and there are lots of good deals for students.
College Senior 2011-03-17T15:35:47Z
Warm and Humid – Charlotte us usually warm for most of the year. The winters do not get too cold, nor do we receive a lot of snow every year. However the weather is sometime unpredictable and can change a lot from day to day.

Party Scene – Drugs are not a major issue at UNCC, even being near a large city it is pretty controlled on campus. The police have a large presence around campus on the weekends, especially at the Fraternity houses. Drinking is more popular, and if people do use drugs in usually marijuana.

UNCC has a wide array of study options. It is one of the best colleges in NC for engineering and business majors. The classes are manageable, but still challenging. UNCC has a great study abroad program that has many resources for students.

The Police Force Is Strict – I don't know how strict the police force is. I haven't lived on campus, so I steer clear of most housing-related events.

Greeks Definitely Do Not Dominate the Scene – There appears to be large sororities, but not such a noticeable scene on the fraternity side.

Health & Safety:
Good Communication Between the Campus Police and the University – There are some incidents, but the police seem to communicate well with the student body with e-mails. I see the campus police often circulating on patrol, and they all seem to be friendly and helpful.

High Costs and No Spots – Parking here varies. The permit for a parking spot is way too expensive to be useful for only a year. Parking is not all that great either. Most days it is easy to find a parking spot, but sometime, depending on the day and the hour, you may have to park a great distance from you class or you dorm. Not such a happy moment when it's nighttime. Ticketing and fines are normal and if you need a car you can rent one from the campus, they also have trollies and shuttles available.

City Life – The nightlife is great, provided transportation to all the hottest clubs and bars downtown. Most of the clubs have college night, so if it is traditionally a 21+ club, then no worries, you can still party as well. Clubs are diverse too, different types of music, depending on what type of club you go to. There are tons of parties to go to weekend, so you will have something to do.

i wish there was a broder on campus housing for upper classmen. i as a student can not afford to live off campus. we need more modern dorms.

Crown at Charlotte – Crown is the newest dining hall here at UNC Charlotte. It is buffet style providing hamburgers and fries, pizza, healthy lunch wraps and a variety of home-cooked and foreign style meals. There is fast food, fine dinning, and everything in between. Everything is pretty cheap and tasty.
College Senior 2011-02-28T18:13:39Z
The facilities at UNC Charlotte are some of the newest in the country. There is always construction which could be considered a bad thing but it shows that the school is growing. The dorms are generally nicer than other schools and the new student union is amazing. There are all kinds of different places to eat and hang out. There are also two gyms with basketball courts, high quality weight rooms free to students, and a rock wall for special events.

UNCC Is Great – Campus is great! Mainly clean, and most buildings look new. There are many programs that can help with school work, supplamental instruction tutors. There are many fun sports to play as a club team.
College Senior 2011-02-08T21:23:15Z
There are plenty of sports to play and watch. The teams are pretty good and fun to watch. In every game there are students standing up, jumping up and down, and never stop cheering!
College Senior 2011-02-08T21:20:46Z
Pretty Good Food – Fair amount of choices but not on a weekend. The quality of the food is pretty good depending on the time of day. Could use more variety with the day-to-day foods in the dining halls.

If you are an Out of State student you will need seperate private loans to cover the cost of attendance. Government loans are preferred but at times they are not available

Transfer Student – Overall the school is very welcoming. The great social atmosphere makes everyone feel welcomed.

The cost is totally unreasonable. $300 for student parking and the lots are far away from campus. I prefer to pay for Visitors parking everyday or park at a meter.

Auburn is the greatest place on earth. I love it here. If you let your social life rule your academic life, then it could be trouble. You have to study here; it isn't all parties. I had a rough time before I came here. Three colleges later, I ended up at Auburn, where my heart told me to go.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
