Many people move to Charlotte for its exciting and upbeat nightlife. Most clubs are 21+ on the weekends but all of the rest are 18+ during the week. The "party bus" will pick up students and take them uptown to all of the clubs and back. It is a safe alternative to driving, and the best part is that it is free.

Campus Housing is wonderful and the RA's are all very dedicated and love their jobs and are always there to help you in any situation. I feel like I could rely on any of them if I needed to. You get what you pay for when you live on campus.

The campus is located in a very busy area that understands the college student lifestyle so the restaurants are good and cheap all located within a one mile radius from any school entrance. There are also a few of the nicer types of restaurants for the students who like to splurge a little.

You are guaranteed to find a computer at any part of campus.

MO MONEY! UNCC looks for ways to give you money! I went to an adult orientation, and they practically begged us to put in an application so they could get rid of the remaining monies that they had. The process is pain free, and simple. The only way that you would have problems is if you wait until the last minute. Doing your financial aid paperwork late, puts you in the bottom tier of being awarded certain scholarships!

Centrally Perfect! North Carolina is very well located. So as a state you get some winter, some rain, etc., but overall the climate is mild year around! So, campus activities are rarely effected by weather.

I am a 10 year Navy Veteran. I was concerned about finding a mature off-campus place to live, and possibly having to find a compatible roommate. The UNCC off-campus housing system eliminated all of those fears! They have great people, great prices and great locations. The roommate selection process is straightforward and simple. I would recommend UNCC's off campus housing to any adult/non-traditional student!

Gold Rush Busses – free campus busses..but they aren't really necessary

The demographic for UNC Charlotte resembles the demographic for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area

Halton Park – Halton park is expensive but a great place to live off campus. It is somewhat of a walk to campus. The quality of rooms are very nice.

Off Campus Foods – There are many places to eat around campus. Most of them are fast food but Concord Mills is not too far with every choice a person could want. There is everything from fast food to sit-down restaurants. Dominos Pizza has many discounts for students at any time of the day.

UNC Charlotte has a very diverse atmosphere. It ranges from teen attractions, to young adult, to even family friendly. Downtown Charlotte welcomes all these different age groups through various attractions. There are multiple malls to shop at which is what a lot of the teenagers like, as well as every other age group. There are under 18, and over 18 night clubs for young adults with weekly college nights just for the college students to get in discounted, or free, most of the time free. Downtown Charlotte also features a stadium where they have many panther games; families, college students, and the general public all love going to the games. Another attraction nearby the school is the race car tracks for Nascar. There is also a museum downtown for the general public and visitors coming to Charlotte for the first time. As you can see Charlotte offers lots to do for its students that attend UNC Charlotte, many diverse areas of entertainment that the students can go to with their friends and/or their families.

It was quite easy to recieve financial aid and apply for it. But the only problem was that it was only in loans, thats why im here searching for scholarships now. And dont have enough money to get me thru the year.

Fafsa Fafsa Fafsa – Get your FAFSA paperwork turned in as soon as you can. Need-based grants are available, but you need to act fast.

People Are Everywhere – There are some great places on campus to go to be alone and there are great, quiet places to study, but generally, campus is crawling with people. The population is large, and I love it. You can meet a new person every day, and if you stumble on the ice in January and look silly while trying to right yourself, chances are the people who saw you might never see you again.

The academic options are endless, but you need to be motivated enough to seek them out (which you should be by the time you get to college anyway). There are tutoring centers for almost every subject, some students organize huge study groups that meet weekly, and your professors love to help you outside of class. Again, though, you have to have the initiative. Your teachers aren't going to hold your hand and make sure you're doing okay, you need to recognize when you're in trouble and do something about it.

No Help – I have not received any financial help from the school. Everything goes by need based and if someone just looks at the amount of money my parents make they do not think that I need help with school. This is completely wrong though, I believe everyone could use help in this day and time.

Drinking Vs Drugs – At college you will always find partying, but I do not believe Charlotte is too much of a party school. There are some parties, but never enough to give Charlotte a bad rep. Also, I hear a lot more about people drinking than I do of hearing them use drugs.

Living on Campus – I do not like living on campus because in my experience I had bad neighbors that were loud and disrespectful. Also, my RA did not help the situation any, but only made it worse which is why I am getting an apartment next semester.

Absolutely freezing during the winter, so those longs walks seem to take forever. The fall is perfect though.
