College Prowler Take

Security does a good job of warning students of the dangers of taking drugs and getting carried away with alcohol consumption. However, for those students who do get caught up in the drug scene, Student Health Services provide plenty of aid and advice on how students can control their partying lifestyle. Unfortunately, many students fail to take these services seriously.

Drug prevalence at UNC is relatively small. Of course, if you are looking to do drugs, you will probably be able to find some rather easily. You will by no means be considered uncool for not doing drugs. People at UNC respect each other’s lifestyles and decisions. The most prevalent drug at UNC, like most other college campuses, is alcohol. The most common drug that students are susceptible to getting addicted to is caffeine. This usually occurs before midterms or finals. Although drugs are more than likely available to any UNC student, they definitely do not dominate the social scene or UNC culture in any way.

I've never seen any drug scene ever, and I've hung out with all types. The party scene at Carolina is somewhat subdued because the academic climate is so rigorous and competitive. This is definitely not a party school.
