College Prowler Take
The UNC student union now offers several conference rooms, study rooms, lounges, and a large computer lab open for students and faculty. During finals, the union is open to students to reserve conference rooms for study groups. Student clubs often use it to hold their meetings, events, and parties. The union also has a gallery for student artwork. The Student Recreation Center (SRC) has the latest exercise equipment and offers classes taught by certified aerobics instructors. If you are interested in taking a different approach to getting in shape, or if you just want to have fun, Woolen Gym has Olympic-sized swimming pools (one indoor and one outdoor) and many full-size basketball courts. Playmakers Theatre holds performances with directors, producers, and actors from across the nation. Students interested in theater can take drama classes or join drama clubs and direct or produce plays at Playmakers Theatre. There’s always a show to catch. The Campus Y is a division of Student Affairs that promotes the “pursuit of social justice through the cultivation of pluralism.” The Y sponsors 19 outreach programs including Big Brother, HYPE: Helping Youth by Providing Enrichment, and HOPE: Hunger and Homeless Outreach Project. Since athletics are so big here,...
Since athletics are so big here, the facilities are amazing. All of the workout centers are top notch. All 11 libraries on campus are beautiful, as is the newly built Union with study rooms, tables, and a bagel shop. One of the best aspects of this campus is the facilities.

The facilities at UNC are very...
The facilities at UNC are very nice. There are multiple rooms and areas for students to study in within the libraries. The student union offers students a place to study, catch up on some sleep, or just watch television with friends. I believe that the University really focused on making the facilities student friendly.

Most of the athletic facilities here are fabulous. Many are fairly new, in great condition, high-tech, and pleasant to go to. Many computer labs and the student union have been renovated. We have many famous alumni that contribute significant amounts of money so that today’s students can live a better college life. |

The facilities on campus are pretty impressive. The Dean Dome, where all the basketball games are held, is nothing short of immaculate. The libraries, especially the renovated Undergraduate Library, provide comfortable, spacious, and quiet places to study. |

The facilities on campus are beautiful. The Student Recreation Center (the gym) is well equipped with a wide variety of machines that function properly on a regular basis. The computers in the newly-renovated library are really nice and work pretty well. The addition to the Student Union has plenty of room for studying. |
FactsWhat To Do on Campus
The question here should be: “What isn’t there to do?” There is always something to do and somewhere to go on campus. No matter what you want to do—work out, play sports, watch television to pass the time between classes, catch a student production of Death of a Salesman—UNC will have it.
Favorite Things To Do
Ram’s Head Rec Center is the newest state-of-the-art facility UNC offers. With its 3 basketball courts (one with inset soccer goals and dasherboards for roller and floor hockey), an indoor track, indoor climbing wall, and excellent weight training equipment, you have no excuse to not stay in shape, and beat the Freshmen 15.
Coffeehouse on Campus
- Yes, there are plenty to choose from --- the Daily Grind inside Student Stores, Alpine Bagel Shop in the Student Union, and Starbucks in Ram’s Head Dining Hall.
