College Prowler Take
Carolina weather is usually mild in the winter and extremely hot and muggy in the summer. There’s usually a very short spring ending in March, and a very long summer ending in late August. The winters are typically mild, but in case of a particularly harsh winter, you might want to bring a couple of sweaters to be prepared. However, it’s likely you’ll never wear them—North Carolina rarely experiences ice or snowstorms. More than likely, you’ll need shorts, short-sleeve shirts, and tank-tops in the spring and summer. In the fall and winter, you’ll need jeans, long-sleeve shirts, and a light jacket. North Carolina’s varied weather makes a variety of activities possible throughout the year. Summers are perfect for taking a weekend trip to the beach. In the winter, students can head to Virginia to ski or snowboard. Spring and fall are by far the most beautiful seasons in North Carolina and the foliage is breathtaking. Blue Heaven wouldn’t be the same without its heavenly climate.

Bring rain boots and a rain coat and have a small umbrella to carry in your backpack just in case. On days it's not raining when you leave, it may later. It is very hilly, and some spots are really low, so stepping into a puddle may mean the water coming up past your ankles! Winters are pretty mild. You should only need a regular coat, gloves, and ear muffs depending on what you are used to. The summers are hot & humid. Carry a light jacket for classrooms if you are usually cold.

The weather isn't that bad, but when it rains, it is the worst thing ever because whoever constructed this campus didn't think to make it rain-friendly as far as run-off and drainage is concerned.

The weather here is very mild. In the summer, it’s very humid and hot, but it cools off in mid-September, and there’s normally a nice long fall. The winter usually doesn’t get super cold (my winter coat is a fleece), although there are the occasional fluke storms. Usually, there’s no snow, though. And the spring is amazing. |

You get all four seasons around here, but with a shorter spring and a longer and hotter summer. Bring all types of clothes, especially lighter sweaters and jackets for the fall and spring. Don’t forget your winter coats and hats because it does snow and get cold sometimes. |
