CAB Events Are the Best Way to Socialize on Campus

The Campus Activites Board hosts free events each week during the school year. My friends and I attended numerous events throughout the school year and we had a lot of fun at the events as well as met other students living on campus. Going to a CAB event is a good excuse to take a break from studying and homework but the event also does not consume your entire evening. I would suggest attending these events to incoming freshmen. As poor college students, the word FREE is music to our ears!

Process Could Have Been More Effective

I did received some financial aid, but the process to get my questions answered regarding my financial aid was not pleasent. The staff was rude and not thorough when answering my questions. After most of my visits to the financial aid office, I was left more confused than when I walked in. I would suggest training the staff more so each staff member can answer questions students and parents have to their fullest. Also, the staff should be understanding that students and parents are not experts on financial aid.

Lots to Do

Cedar Falls has a lot of delicious local restaurants. Also, they have a mall and places for students to hang out with. There are many bars and grills located on the Hill on the side of campus. If you cannot find anything to do there are 2 big universities each 1 hour away.
