College Prowler Take
If you happen to be walking around campus one day and spot a thin, pale, haggard-looking teen, don’t panic. At Notre Dame, the sight of such a person is more likely to indicate that they’re an architecture major overdosing on coffee at the end of an all-nighter, rather than strung out. Across the board students say that, while drugs are available around campus, they’re the exception rather than the rule. Although alcohol can be found in excess, the University’s strict zero-tolerance drug policy seems to be frightening enough to check the few students who are even interested in drug use. Needless to say, you don’t have to worry about social pressure to use drugs at Notre Dame. Whatever does happen is always in isolated circles, and punishments can be so serious that drugs tend to stay out of sight. Of course, there are things around—this is the case at any campus. Overall, Notre Dame is not the type of school where you can toke up every day and still expect to graduate.

While there is an occasional isolated flare-up of drug use on campus, there is absolutely no tolerance of this by the administration. Being caught means expulsion. |

There are pretty much no drugs on campus. Some weed, but that’s about it. I’ve never seen any real drug problems. |
