College Prowler Take
No matter how familiar they might be with cold weather, most Notre Dame students spend the winters covered in down jackets so thick that they can’t put their arms down, and hats and scarves pulled so tightly that all you can see are eyes peering out into the snow. However, one of the worst things about the seasons is the unpredictability. There will be days when it’s beautiful, sunny, and warm, right next to days when you have to walk around bundled up and shivering. At least the spring thaw gives you something to look forward to. Until then, be ready with layers of clothing, a sturdy coat, and maybe even a sun lamp.

Unless you’re from Canada, you will need a lot of warm clothes to survive the winter, and I do mean it when I say survive. |

Midwest weather is very unpredictable. One day you’ll be wearing shorts, and the next day you’ll be covered in snow gear. Be prepared for anything. |

Fall and spring are nice, but winter can be brutal. If you aren’t accustomed to cold winter weather and plenty of snow, you may be in for a surprise. You’ll definitely need a warm winter jacket, a winter hat, gloves, and probably a good pair of boots for trudging to class. |

Okay, the weather sucks. It’s Indiana—what can you expect? It’s gray, gloomy, and cold for about six months of the year. I kid you not when I say people start wearing shorts when it hits 50 degrees. Even I wore shorts then! Bring warm clothes and get used to wearing layers. I hated it, but it’s the only way to go. The good thing is that everyone looks like a snowman, so you don’t feel bad. |

Ummm, where to start? There’s only one way to describe Notre Dame: cold! Here, the seasons are irrelevant. Expect snow in October, and even in April. However, you might just have a nice 70 degree day in January. Here, you learn to expect the unexpected. |
