College Prowler Take
OU definitely gives new meaning to the Freshman 15 because there is no lack whatsoever of fine cuisine on this campus. If you took the saying “you are what you eat” literally, then on any given day, you could walk into a class at OU and see a chicken fried steak conversing with an Indian curry taco. Food at the University is as diverse as its student population. For the student with a basic taste, the student union offers many of the popular fast food chains, such as Wendy’s, Chick-fil-A, and a nice 24-hour fast food restaurant that serves burgers, sandwiches, and breakfast. Different international student associations also host events throughout the week which includes a typical meal from their country. In the grand tradition of cafeterias, OU does nothing to interrupt the status quo of meals prepared for mass consumption. Although the cafeteria does not provide many exquisite meals, it does serve home favorites like grilled chicken, coleslaw, and spaghetti and also offers a large salad bar. For those who like to spice it up, they also have an area where you can make your own stir-fry. It should be noted that the cafeteria is a great place to catch up and hang out with your friends before heading back to the dorm to uh, study.

The on-campus dining is okay, but you will get tired of it rather quickly. As for Norman, there are not many good restaurants out here.

There is a large variety of food spots on campus for anyone to find what they like. Crossroads in the Union has almost anything you could ask for. The cafeteria also has a good variety of choices, even for the health-conscious. |

The cafeteria food is okay. But there are food options in the Union (Wendy’s, Quiznos), and the president of the campus is working to make restaurants on Campus Corner more accessible to students by letting them spend meal plan points to buy items from the stores. |

The food in the cafeteria is...
The food in the cafeteria is surprisingly good. In the Union, there’s Crossroads, a 24-hour restaurant with burgers, salads, and sides. By the dorms, there is a building that houses a Taco Mayo, a sandwich place, and a convenience store with drinks, snacks, groceries, and more. In one of the towers, there is a Burger King. So, as you can see, there is a wide variety of places to eat without getting bored. |
