College Prowler Take

Public transportation is not something that you normally hear about on or around campus. It’s sort of like that rule that if your roommate commits suicide, you get a 4.0 for the semester. Everyone’s heard of it, but nobody is completely sure if it is true, and not many people have ever tested it out. In all honestly though, buses and other modes of transportation around campus do exist. The likelihood of you needing it, though, is slim. If you live in the dorms, many places that you need to go are within walking distance. If you really need to go somewhere that requires a car, the probability that there is someone else on your floor that needs to go to the same place is normally somewhat good.

Many student apartment complexes offer shuttles that run every 10 or 15 minutes to bring students to campus without the stress of finding a parking spot. There are also different buses that pick up right in the middle of the South Oval that take you to and from campus and drop off in various places around town. If you need transportation, use the shuttles and buses, because the other main option is a taxi, and that can get really expensive. Another suggestion is to make friends with people who own cars; that way, getting around becomes a lot easier.
