College Prowler Take
The weather in Norman is about as unpredictable as the student quotes in this book. When the weather is good it’s absolutely beautiful, and when it’s bad it can get really horrible. The spring and fall are the best times of the year when it’s not too hot, but not cold either. The average temperature stays above freezing during the winter, and it can get very hot during the warmer months, so students should have light and comfortable clothes along with heavier clothes for the winter months. Because of the rainy season, students should also make sure that they have some shoes that they don’t mind getting muddy or soaked with water for those rainy days. Seasons vary in temperature, but normally it’s pretty hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s a good idea to have an umbrella with you at all times during the rainy seasons, because you can walk into class and the sun will be out, and leave only to be caught in a monsoon.

The weather changes daily from hot...
The weather changes daily from hot to cold to snowy. Whatever the weather is, it only lasts for a few days. I would say the weather is the part I most dislike about OU. |

If you don’t like the weather,...
If you don’t like the weather, just wait a while. It changes quite a bit. It will get pretty warm in the summer—not humid at all. It stays warm until the end of September, then gets pretty cold for the winter. Usually we have light snow, no more than a foot. School gets cancelled now and then. Fall and spring are amazingly beautiful here. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else during those seasons. Campus is beautiful year around. It gets really windy in the winter, though. The weather starts getting warm about March or April, and there is not too much rain. It’s pretty enjoyable. |
