In the past few years, the University of Oregon has expanded its on-campus dining to include a full coffeehouse, bakery, and grill. The University offers a selection to suit any appetite, from two dining centers providing all-you-can-eat buffets to the popular Grab 'n' Go Marketplace and its fast food options. Students see the food itself as standard dorm fare, but the variety of options makes it more palatable. You can usually find something on campus that you're not sick of, even if it's not the highest-quality cuisine. There is only one meal plan available—a points-based system—but it comes in three different sizes, depending on your appetite.
You can use your points at the main campus eateries and even treat your friends with your meal plan. Occasionally, you may want to indulge in the EMU's food court, which doesn't accept the point system. Too much of this can get really expensive, though. One interesting feature of Oregon's meal plan is that students are encouraged to submit recipes to the dining services director and may even have their food incorporated into the dining hall offerings. Check out the dining section of the housing services website (housing.uoregon.edu/din) for more details.
