Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The University of Oregon offers some of the most extravagant, up-to-date facilities in the nation. The administration is always making the University more appealing, from the expansion of Autzen stadium to the building of a new business complex. The Erb Memorial Union (EMU) is at the center of the UO campus. It has two coffeeshops including the ever-popular Buzz, which has an open mic/poetry night on Mondays and Fridays.

With several renovations underway and constant updating of older buildings, the University is capable of keeping up with student needs by offering the highest-quality facilities. Within the last five years, the University has revamped nearly every building or facility to improve it in some way. A top-of-the-line Student Recreation Center, the best sports arenas and athletic facilities around, and a student center to serve every need are all a part of the UO experience, and you’ll be hard pressed to find students who could ask for more.

Great Facilities

I really like UO's library facilities. I usually frequent Knight and the library in Lawrence, depending on my needs. Knight is great for group projects because they have rooms sectioned off where you can talk, as well as for the large selection of books available. In Lawrence, I usually go to print large projects (I'm an iarch student, so most of my projects have to be 11x17), for convenience (it's much closer to the center of campus), or for some extra quiet (since it's departmental, fewer people are there). Lawrence is only open til 11 most days, but Knight is open much later, which is great for late night studying. I'm sure the other departmental libraries are great as well. Very conducive to academic growth!
