I chose to use my own computer and printer so I wouldn't have to worry about availability or having to use a jump drive for my files. When I went to the campus I had no trouble getting help to be set up on the wifi. While there I did have a few papers to print out and they were happy to do that for me. The internet was really fast and I had no trouble staying connected.

Before I ever started my college classes my college advisor showed me a tool on the website that allowed me to see what sort of jobs my degree would help me get and from there showed me what the pay grade was along with some jobs in my immediate area.

Psychology major. I am not being challenged enough. Most of the material is common sense and or repeat of a course I have taken in high school or community college.

I need for the teachers to be more involved with me. As an online student, the only interaction is through Avatar. I needed a reference from any teacher to apply for a scholarship and I was turned down by all of my teachers because they had never met me, in person.

My school consist of a wide variety of diversity. Which at sometimes can be hard on instructors and fellow students. We have people who come from the inner city to the affluent suburbs. We also have big age gaps and communication can become very hostile when respect is not present. I have only made two friends with the younger generation since I have been in college but they are wonderful people.

An Array of Individuals – The student body consist of an array of individuals. One can find recent high school graduates, seasoned workforce members, stay-at-home moms, senior citizens, and those who use English as a second language. The school treats each student as an unique individual and strives to provide the tools each needs to obtain his or her education goals.

Working a full-time job and attending school full-time has been made possible through the University of Phoenix. Due to my current work schedule having the ability to work online has made it possible for me to obtain my Associates of Arts degree and now go after my Bachelors of Science. If not for the flexibility offered by the University of Phoenix my educational dreams would have never been realized.

Large Diversity – There are multiple races and level of education to each person. It has helped open my eyes to many different situations and experiences.

Better Than Expected – Between the connectivity of the University, staff, and students; the program I'm in is very successful for me so far. Not overloaded or underloaded with work and can get all different types of assistance when needed.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Worth It So Far – At this time in my schooling I am satisfied with the cost. Obviously everyone wants things cheaper, but I can't complain on the price for this place. They are very helpful and knowledge. Right now I'm trying to find more grants and scholarships to help pay since I'm still unemployeed like a lot of others these days.

There is still a lot to learn. Although you have to be self-motivated, it doesn't interfere with my full-time job and I still have access to tutors when I need them and classmates when I have any questions.

Not Known – Since I did my work online it is not fair to describe the resources on campus.

Online Is Great – I love taking online classes. The classrooms are easy to navigate and the features are easy to use. The workload is not too much and is manageable for this mother of four who also holds down a part time job too. The relationships with your professors lack the interaction and personalization that you could get with a classroom setting, but they set up a lot of peer-to-peer interaction. I have a really good friend now thanks to online classes. This lady and I went through several classes together and I really missed it when we split up because we fed off of each other and helped each other out a lot.

Easy to Do. I like University of Phoenix because the people there are nice and the learning is easy to do. I take classes online and find that I can commit better because it is up to me to do my work on time. I just finished my Associates Degree in Arts with foundations in Business, it was challenging and very fulfilling. The only thing I would change is how often your advisers change. I had one that stayed most of my degree and in the end, I had no idea who my adviser was.

My school experience so far has been convenient. Classes are one day a week and the school puts teams in place with fellow students that help each other along the way

When choosing to go with the online courses I was very hesitant because of it being socially unacceptable, however, I was wrong because I learn just as much if not more in the 9 week classes than I did in my 14 week classes from other colleges. Since everything is hands on and the class loads are smaller I get all the attention I want or don't want.

Personal Need for Computer for Both Students and Professors – The need for computers is essential for both students and professors at UoPKC because the communication between peer to peer and peer to professor is done through a virtual class. Our books, homework turn ins, discussions, and attendance is all done through the computer. If you don't have an internet connection or your computer malfunctions you become "sol" and could lose more than a letter grade in the class.

Flexibility Is Amazing – It is so difficult for a single mother of two (twin) toddlers to juggle life, work, and school. University of Phoenix has made it so easy for me to be a full-time student, yet I only need to attend class once a week. The option of day or evening classes is also available. The curriculum has been right on target. I believe the order of the classes I am enrolled in have helped me be a more successful student. Each class I begin I feel that it is challenging; nevertheless, I have never attended a class feeling overwhelmed. Each course gradually challenges each student and prepares him or her to advance to the next course. Because I have not attended any other college before UOP, I never had previous credits that needed to be transferred.

Tutoring Programs – Anytime any student needs any assistance or extra help on a subject, paper format, how to find resources, etc., there are tutors available six days a week, from open to close that will help. The sessions can be majorly beneficial; and the best part, is that this program is free!

I Would Make the Same Decision – The student counselors, academic advisors, teachers, and the entire faculty have been continually motivating students to succeed. I find that each teacher I have had is extremely resourceful and takes time with each student in the class; therefore, I never feel like another number. If I am ever struggling with an assignment or have questions in regard to anything about school, there are so many instructive and friendly people to ask and receive all the information necessary. Because I am a single mother of twins, attending class one day a week as a full time student is an important factor in my busy life.
