The housing process just sucks overall.

To the last comment, yes it's bad. You can get lucky and get awesome housing, but that's not likely. After freshmen year, it's pretty tough to get ideal housing so you're most likely going to want to get an off-campus apartment which will be cheaper and nicer! It's not so bad, it's just because in the city there's limited space and therefore housing. Freshmen year is tolerable, it's not awful.

I like the dorms here at Pitt, very comfortable but not some of the dorms are far from the center of the school.

Freshman dorms are decent- convenient and centrally located. Upperclassman dorms are larger, nicer, and more spread out on campus.
