Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Ethernet ports or wireless access sites are available to students in every building on campus. For this reason, many students choose to bring laptops. Because it is so easy to get online from virtually anywhere on campus, you will see people on their laptops just about any time. With so many laptop users around, students feel that it is relatively easy for them to find a computer in any of the labs—and there is almost always a computer available at the library, as many students go there simply to print. For students who have a desktop or do not have any type of computer, this is comforting, especially since the labs are open late, some of them 24 hours a day.

Computer labs are plentiful on campus and so are Ethernet jacks. Students here are very tech savvy, and for those who are not, ResNet (Residential Networking services) is there to help with any questions or problems you might have. They even provide free software, like Norton Anti-Virus. Quite a few classes use Web sites, such as Blackboard, to host discussions of course material outside of the classroom, which makes for another helpful technological resource. A wide variety of elective classes offer lessons on computer and Internet use, so students can take those to improve their computer literacy.

Great!

Their are a lot of places to have access to computers. There are also choices between Macs and PCs so that is nice. Printing is free which is GREAT! All of campus is now wireless which has been an awesome change since my freshman year.

Not great printing options, and computers are old. Only saving grace is that printing is free

They're Hidden, but There

The computers and printers are pretty hard to find. In the science building, if you know which study rooms have them and which are more likely to have paper, then you have a better chance of printing out that assignment last minute.

There are 3 printers in the main library and they're efficient and there's no limit to what you can print. You can print to them from your own laptop, which is nice.

Wireless on campus is spotty most of the time but at odd hours it's quite speedy.
