Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students have mentioned several local restaurants like the Southern Kitchen and the Ram some of their favorite restaurants that they visit frequently. There is a very nice grocery store, Metropolitan Market, just a few blocks off campus where many students get fresh soup, grilled sandwiches, chicken, and a host of other great foods. Many find that the Market suits both their palates and their budgets. Students can drive or take the bus downtown where there are more dining choices, but if they are looking for a quick bite to eat (and want something better than fast food), the time it takes them to get downtown defeats much of the purpose. Luckily, restaurants like Quizno’s and Gateway to India are nearby, and students can always opt to call and get food delivered to their dorm rooms.

Restaurants like Stanley 7 Seafort’s are nicer, farther away, and are too expensive to visit regularly. Students find these restaurants nice for some occasions, like when parents come to visit or for special dates, but these options are limiting in other respects. Due to the lack of restaurants that cater to the college wallet, most students—even those who live off campus—eat on campus a lot of the time where the options are both plentiful and affordable.

Not Much to Offer

There is not much in the area right around puget sound; and the sad thing is, there isn't in Tacoma either. You pretty much have to go to Seattle for anything interesting.

Good Dining

there are a bunch of pizza places around the school and most of them deliver. There are also some places for fine dining but its a pretty far walk if you don't have a car
