Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Overall, students are very happy at UPS and satisfied with their decision to stay at the University. Several students found their niche here early on during the well-crafted orientation program, “Prelude, Passages, and Perspectives,” which gives freshmen a taste of the Northwest and the college lifestyle through academic sessions and community service. The vast majority of students find the extracurricular activities, clubs, and community that UPS offers to be equally as valuable as the time spent in the classroom. While every student will complain from time to time about the high workload, the rain, or a host of other issues, people here are proud to be a part of the Puget Sound Community. Everyone in the Puget Sound community contributes to everyone else’s learning experience; meeting and building friendships with other students from different walks of life is one of the greatest teaching tools you will find. Puget Sound is a community that works together, plays together, and encourages each other to strive to reach his or her fullest potential.

UPS believes in small class sizes, which give students the chance to get to know their classmates and professors more intimately than at larger schools. Relationships with professors are important. Through feedback of their work, students are challenged by the faculty and are able to grow both personally and academically at Puget Sound. Relationships with classmates create support groups while at the University and networking connections after graduation. While students study an incredibly diverse array of subjects at UPS, one common theme can be seen throughout the student body: this is a highly-motivated and driven group. The result is an organization that is far greater than the sum of all of its members, and produces young men and women who are fully capable to handle the real world upon graduation.

Combining academics, athletics, living style, social life, on and off campus dining. Puget Sound is where it's at.

Best School in the Northwest.

Pretty much the only thing that would have persuaded me from going somewhere other than UPS would be along the lines a full ride to an ivy league school. Since that isn't in the realm of possibility for me, UPS is a perfect fit. People are excited to be here, are excited to learn, and are happy to be part of the Puget Sound community.

I don't think I could've picked a better place to spend my four years of college. The University of Puget Sound has become my home. I think the thing that really made me fit in, though, was joining the women's crew team. It has changed my life.
