Food is important to all college kids. Most students don’t get home-cooked meals, so going out to eat makes food taste that much better. The good thing about off-campus dining here is the choices—there are a variety of restaurants all within the same area. There are hardly any chain restaurants nearby except for fast food places like Burger King, Taco Bell, and KFC, but that can hardly be called dining. Most of the restaurants have a laid-back atmosphere, and students can go out for a nice meal for a decent price and come home satisfied. Some restaurants have bars that are also popular with students, so you could just head over to the bar and get a good seat before the rest of URI shows up for their night out. Such places like this include the Mews, Casey’s, and Charlie O’s.
Overall, students enjoy the off-campus dining options. Although there are a lot of places to choose from, they all offer similar menus. There are American, Italian, Chinese, and seafood places, but that’s about it. Some students complain about the lack of healthy restaurants, and most have commented that Subway is probably the healthiest. Students do appreciate the several places that deliver and are open late, but they are still patiently waiting for a 24-hour hot spot. Most students agree that the first person to open a 24-hour diner in Narragansett will be a millionaire.

Dining Off
The restaurants off campus are not convenient at all unless you have a car or know someone willing to drive which is unlikely so pretty much if you do not you have no option of getting to them although if you can they are very good especially The mews and Caseys.
