College Prowler Take
As long as no one sees, you’re set. UR is not the biggest watchdog; they allow students to act on their own and do not impose overly strict regulations for housing, visiting, and the like. There is not a maze of bureaucracy to deal with in administration, and if you do something wrong, it goes through a direct process of discipline. Students are left to their own devices, for the most part, except for fraternities. When it comes to cracking down on drinking at frat houses, there is an inordinate amount of attention given. Beyond the frat houses, you’re out from under security’s eye. Little resentment exists between the student body and the authorities. Some fraternities are angry over their maltreatment, but most students do not have a problem or feel that their rights are been impinged upon. They are now even phasing in a non-smoking policy campus-wide for all the dorms, and students have not had an adverse reaction. If a reasonable rule is set in place, no one finds reason to rebel against or disregard it. Overall, people are mostly well behaved, and the school leaves well enough alone.

The campus is not too strict about drinking. Occasionally some of the parties will get split up by a visit from security, but they just check to make sure that nothing is too out of hand, and then leave. If you get caught with drugs, you can be put on probation and get in a lot of trouble. There are still plenty of kids who get away with everything.

Not very strict about drinking, especially at the frat quad. They are a little more strict about drugs, though you can usually get away all right if it's your first time getting caught.

It depends on where you live and your RA. It's a joke to try and drink on some floors, but on others it's completely cool. Don't play loud music, and don't have copious amounts of people.

Keep it quiet, and you won't get caught. First infractions involving drinking or drugs involve doing a very short online substance awareness program. Most issues are dealt with by the school.
