The trolley system isn't too hard to figure out. Unfortunately, though, everything is spread out here, so most people tend to just drive themselves.

The campus is very strict. There are drugs on all college campuses—you can't escape that, but at USD, it is not noticeable.

You get plenty of space in the dorms—they are huge compared to other schools. Also, if you get the right room, there are phenomenal ocean and canyon views, along with pleasant ocean breezes.

I’ve never seen more beautiful people than I have at USD. Not only do we have quantity, but quality, as well. Hugh Hefner should just set up a booth on campus. |

The campus is not that diverse, to be quite honest. The admissions office is really trying to work on this area and has improved the situation over the past couple of years. |

Oh my God, the weather is beautiful! In San Diego you can’t complain at all about the weather. Everyone, for the most part, has a very relaxed look about them—sweats for morning classes and bathing suits under tank tops and jean skirts in the afternoon. |

I graduated in May, and by the end I was sorry to leave. I wanted to transfer my freshman year because I hated it, and I think a lot of people share that same sentiment. But, luckily for me, I found a wonderful friend that I survived the four years with. I had fun with my job and my club activities, and once I found my niche, I finally felt comfortable and got more out of it than others might. |

I absolutely love it. I’ve made a bunch of great friends, and our campus is absolutely gorgeous. |

The teachers are concerned with the students as individuals and want each student to succeed. The majority of the classes are interesting. |

The Valley or Missions A and B are fabulous places to live, but if walking up a big staircase every morning to class doesn’t appeal, steer clear. The walk can be anywhere from five to fifteen minutes, depending on the distance of the classroom. Mission B has four buildings of three floors each with about 30 residents per floor. The buildings are coed by floor. The 30 residents share two bathrooms with two showers, two toilets, and four sinks apiece. But, there really isn’t a traffic problem, given the differences in individual schedules. |

There is one dorm that I would recommend staying away from—Founders, the all-girls dorm known as the ‘Virgin Vault.’ Maher is coed and isn’t really too bad. The rooms are small like most schools, but if you can stick it out for one year, the apartments are very nice. |

It is common practice after...
It is common practice after freshman or sophomore year that students move off campus because of the cost, availability, and strictness of campus. While housing is guaranteed all four years, most students would rather live at the beach for comparable (or cheaper) cost. Parking is always an issue at USD, so living on campus is more convenient, but who wouldn’t want to wake up to waves as an alarm clock to round off the perfect San Diego college experience? |

USD doesn’t seem like a university. I feel like I’m still in high school. I hate it, and I’m transferring after next year. |

I had a hard time my freshman year at USD because there isn’t a college community around campus, and it is hard to meet people. But, once I joined a sorority and moved off campus, I became much happier. |

I would have to say the best dorms are those in the Valley (Missions A and B). Especially if you are social and enjoy partying, drinking in the Valley is much easier to get away with.

The dorms are okay. Camino/Founders, Maher, Vista, and the Valley are all older, but they are pretty nice. Manchester Village is awesome, and there is an opportunity to have your own room. |

The dorms are pretty nice if you get the Valley. I have always had on-campus apartments, which have been really big and nice. |
