Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Most students will tell you that the best thing about USF is the city of San Francisco. Granted, the city provides an amazing backdrop, but the school itself is also very fascinating and, in some ways, reflective of the city. Like San Francisco, USF is quite old with a rich history and a positive outlook on the future. Buildings are being renovated in order to keep up with the times and the demands of the students. Here, you will find students with strong morals, dedicated to service and justice, and most importantly, a university that supports them. Also, like the city it resides in, USF is incredibly diverse and tolerant. Coming here, you will meet people from all over the world, all ethnicities, religions, and cultures. By exposing students to the culture of San Francisco, USF can mold any student into a conscious, cultured, and well-grounded individual.

USF gives its students the opportunity to enjoy both the intimacy of a small college experience and life in the big city. When the campus feels too consuming or school work becomes too demanding, San Francisco provides an amazing release. Students here take advantage of the different cultures, views, restaurants, museums, and nightlife of the surrounding city. In the end, USF students find nothing better than this stunning combination of an amazing university and the city of San Francisco.

You Are Attending a City School

You are in the great city of San Francisco!!!!! There is plenty of shopping and probably some of the best restaurants you will ever find. Although, since you are in the city, most students spend time off-campus rather on-campus.

Muni Buses, BART, and Caltrain

Muni Buses, BART, and Caltrain are the three main modes of transportation in San Francisco. The school pays for your Muni bus pass for the entire semester, so it is free for students and they run all hours of the day. There are numbers posted around the city at bus stations that you can call if you don't know the bus schedule or which one to take. BART and Caltrain are very low in price and can take you outside of the city.

Scholarships

There are a lot of scholarships on campus that of people do not take advantage of. Personally, I'm on a merit scholarship. Something that all people are guaranteed so long as they have a good enough GPA and SAT score. The school also offers work-study, where one can work on campus and use that salary to help pay for their education.
