Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Most students will tell you that the best thing about USF is the city of San Francisco. Granted, the city provides an amazing backdrop, but the school itself is also very fascinating and, in some ways, reflective of the city. Like San Francisco, USF is quite old with a rich history and a positive outlook on the future. Buildings are being renovated in order to keep up with the times and the demands of the students. Here, you will find students with strong morals, dedicated to service and justice, and most importantly, a university that supports them. Also, like the city it resides in, USF is incredibly diverse and tolerant. Coming here, you will meet people from all over the world, all ethnicities, religions, and cultures. By exposing students to the culture of San Francisco, USF can mold any student into a conscious, cultured, and well-grounded individual.

USF gives its students the opportunity to enjoy both the intimacy of a small college experience and life in the big city. When the campus feels too consuming or school work becomes too demanding, San Francisco provides an amazing release. Students here take advantage of the different cultures, views, restaurants, museums, and nightlife of the surrounding city. In the end, USF students find nothing better than this stunning combination of an amazing university and the city of San Francisco.

Get Your Tinfoil Hat

Finding a fraternity or sorority at USF is like searching for Bigfoot - plenty of people claim to have seen them, but no one's ever managed to they actually exist.

Don't Be Fooled

Nightlife on campus is nonexistent, unless you're a closet masochist and enjoy camping in the atrium. Of campus, there's nearly every venue you can imagine, from gritty dive bars, to the Purple Onion comedy club, to the (relative) luxury of Sausalito or the Marina. There's more options if you're over 21, but the underage crowd won't be entirely left out - plenty of music venues are 18+.

It's a PBR Paradise

USF's student body covers pretty much the entire spectrum, though this being San Francisco, there's a distinct hipster tinge. The stereotypical Valley girl, clad in blindingly pink 'JUICY' sweatpants seems to be something of a fixture on campus. Despite attending (or perhaps in spite of) a Jesuit school, people are at least as debauched as anywhere else.
