Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

USF provides a fast Internet service for all students and faculty on campus. The network is functional and has virtually no firewalls. If you bring your own computer, which is highly recommended due to the small number of computers available in the labs, be sure it has an Ethernet port. Don’t worry if you don’t have a cord because every dorm carries enough for each student. If you live off campus, USF will provide you with free dial-up service, which isn’t very fast, but it helps cushion any student’s budget.

Information Technology Services (ITS), the on-campus computer and network service, has a help desk, and they are always more than happy to assist students with any questions or problems. They also maintain the computer labs and USF Connect, a source for student e-mail accounts, Web registration, grades, and campus announcements. While most students come to school with their own private e-mail addresses, using the USF e-mail address is a smart idea. Most departments and professors send correspondence directly to USF accounts, so if you want to stay in touch with academics and campus events, be sure to check it often. USF Connect is easy to use, personalize, and it serves as an important part of the University’s network.

There's the Library, and Several Labs.

The computer selection at USF is decent. Network failures are rare and support is usually only a phone call or (if you're on campus) a walk away. Printers are rarely too crowded except around finals and wireless goes across campus, sans a few spots.

Great Computer Use

University of San Francisco has useful computer labs. There are about 5 total computer labs on campus and all of them are very helpful. The computers are up to date and they work great. Very useful especially when it's finals week.

Computer Review

There are a large number of computers located through out the campus. Access is very simple, but sometimes it takes some time for them to load.
