Tuition & Financial Aid:
I'm content with the price, however, knowing that scholarships are always swimming around means that anyone is open to try and get some sort of financial aid.

It's very hard. I'm a science major so I have to work extremely hard to achieve my goals.

All of the students get along with each other. There are no signs of drama within the school. The students know how to behave, know when to have fun, and know when to be serious.

There are plenty of options for students to take on. Whenever you go in for orientation they let you know that its going to be hard but there are tutoring sessions and a place that you make sure you sign up for ahead of time because there are not that many open spaces. The faculty are very hands on and are willing to work with their students when needed.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The attention I received was dynamite! The school made every opportunity financially possible for me to succeed.

I was somewhat nervous about taking an online course....after a week or so I was able to get into the swing of things and now I actually prefer online classes.

I really enjoyed most of my professors...most were willing to accomodate working adults like myself. However,I had a few professors who werent so accomdating but I was able to get through the class(es).

I received adequate help in looking for employment. I was interviewed for several positions and was later hired as a Legislative Aide.

With the exception to a few, many people at Sumter are nice. They hold the door open for you, etc.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I feel like I'm wasting my time at the college. They go out of their way to skrew everyone over. They took my money then my advisor suggested I withdrawl. No support at all.

Easy Transfers – So far all the classes I've taken will be transferable. However, whether the classes will transfer to an out of state college is questionable.

Always Depending on the Unreliable Internet – The one thing I hate about online courses is that your professors do not tolerate computer/internet issues. So, you are constantly worried that you will lose internet connection due to a storm and you won't be able to argue your case.

Teachers Are Great, Location Is Mediocre. The professors are pretty helpful, but a few of them are phenomenal! That's my favorite thing about the school. On the down side, its location isn't that fantastic.

Satisfying With Exceptions – At the University of South Carolina Sumter there are plenty of computer labs available at reasonable hours. The labs have programs for anything you may need to be do for your classes and internet that is not as censored as it was in high school. On the other hand, wireless internet may not be something you want to mess with. If you are in certain buildings, sure it will work fine. However, if you are in the other buildings, you might as well put your phone or laptop away because you wont be using the internet today. I am pretty sure that printing out paper is free, but the school is trying to convert to more "green" ways. None of my teachers are allowed very many print outs anymore. In my English class we have completely converted to the computer as a way of turning things in. If you ask me, it is not much of a hassle, and perhaps even better that they cannot afford the paper and are forced to do things this way. Over all, I am satisfied with the availability of the computer networking at my school.

My Classes Are Great – I am a nursing major at usc sumter and i am enjoying it. It is indeed a lot work, but i simply apply myself and get the work done. I am currently taking my basic classes and will transfer to the USC Columbia in Columbia South Carolina, where i will then take actual nursing classes. The professors are great. They listen to me and help me in all areas that i need help with. I am proud to be a student at the University of South Carolina Sumter.

Trying to Save Money. A lot of the students at USC Sumter are going there to save money on college. You can easily get two free years of school if you receive the life scholarship and some financial aid. So, mostly everyone is pinching pennies. They are also staying close to home to cut expenses.

More Than Just a Number. I've really enjoyed the student-teacher ratio at USC Sumter, because it allows for you to form a bonds with your professors. They are very helpful, and so far all of my professors have been extremely kind. As long as you put forth the effort to talk to your professors, they will return the gesture.

Career Center Somewhat Helpful – Since I have not graduated, I do not know how helpful the Career Center is for post graduate students. I do know that if you go to the Career Center as an undergraduate student they will attempt to help you find a job.

Great Classes, but Some Have Nothing to Do With Major – I'm a business major, and my business classes are amazing! I am required to take some classes that have nothing to do with my major though. I was required to take art history and anthropology, and they were overall my hardest classes. I was able to pass my first semester of college with a 4.0, but the classes that had nothing to do with my major were the most difficult.

Professors Are Very Involved – Professors are always available for help after class. The classes are small, which is helpful and makes it feel like the instructor is speaking only to you. The science classes for science majors are the most demanding of all classes you will take here. For class registration, the student is advised a month or so in advance in a one-on-one appointment. Students then register for classes online. My only complaint is that it is sometimes difficult to get into the classes you need.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
