Carolina Dining, Great? Most of the Times. The Dining on Campus is good, but you have to pick and choose what you get. The hotline is bad some days, but there are many other options to choose from. Chicken Finger Wednesdays are a must, it is the best meal of the week.

If there's not a party, 5 Points bars are always awesome. I highly recommend getting a fake ID though. They're not very strict so as long as you have an ID saying you're 21 it should be fine. There's a couple 18+ bars but you'll find that they can get pretty boring.

Transportation is great during the day, but at night it isn't very good. You have to call to get a bus and they take a long time. The transportation to and from the bars is awful. You will probably spend quite a bit on taxis.

Columbia is nice-ish, but it can get really dull. USC's campus is open so people downtown can be walking right beside you. Opens the door for a lot of creeps and heightened campus security.

Lots of cuisine options in and around downtown Columbia. If you want to get out of downtown, a 10 minute trip to West Columbia or Harbison Blvd. also have great options.

The school is really diverse. It has many different ethnic grouos and clubs that you can join. Their are also a variety of clubs and organizations that promote freedom of religion and sexual orientation. Everyone can fit in at the University of South Carolina.

The drug scene seems nonexistent because it is not visible unless u are included in it, which will not normally happen unless you really search for it.

Guys & Girls:
The ladies are hotter than the weather in South Carolina. I challenge you to walk around campus and not see at least five women you would like to get to know. Come to campus on a game day and you won't want to leave.

USC is very diverse. Each day I meet and see students from many different countries and of numerous races.

The nightlife is fun for those who are of age and even when bars are crowded, there are always house parties to go to.
College Sophomore 2012-12-30T03:45:14Z
Parking is decent at the campus, often hard to find

The school has a variety of dining options ranging from the commons where we have Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Chick Fill'a and Burger King to the large variety of more dinning hall styled meals. We have several Starbucks as well as a very chiq cafeteria called colloqium which offers a healthier alternative.

In my opinion there is not enough apartments surrounding campus, there should be plenty more apartment buildings which are the most efficient for student living. However the apartment buildings that do exist are of low quality and not very good. I've heard complaints about almost all of them, houses surrounding campus are also very expensive and extremely old and in bad shape. If you would like to find a good house close to campus and in optimal conditions you're talking about several thousands in rent per month.

If this school is known for anything, then it is for the athletics. There are many sports teams, though the most famous is the football. The support of the fans is simply incredible at the games. The energy and charisma seems to bring the university together... it is a fantastic thing to witness! Even though I joined this school for the academics, even I couldn't help feeling unified when I went to my first football game.

This campus is very large and is in the city of Columbia. Therefore, you can go to places off of campus very easily. There are many communities and clubs to belong to, including a skydiving group, a Quidditch team, and acapella singing groups. There is a ton of variety with classes, too. I actually chose USC due to the Japanese classes offered.

At the Russell House there are plenty of dining options, although sometimes after awhile they might get a little repetitive. It bothers me that breakfast opens late on the weekend (9:00am!) since I tend to be a morning person. Otherwise, the Russell House is convenient due to its location on campus. There's a chart posted in multiple locations of the Russell House that tells you the business hours of the multiple dining options.

If you don't own a car, be prepared with an umbrella if necessary. Since some of the buildings are a great distance away from other buildings, you end up walking quite a ways if you don't have a ride. An umbrella or rain poncho is handy to keep around.

My housing family at the University of South Carolina is Sims in the Women's Quad. The environment is very friendly and peaceful. Too bad this community is being renovated next year. I love the layout of the rooms and the study room down the hall. The only complaint I have is the mold, although that is why the building is being revamped. Overall, it has been a great experience.

I am a dance performance and exercise science major. I am thoroughly enjoying being in the dance program. I would like to become a professional dancer and later possibly a physical therapist. The job market for any dancer is risky, since contracts are only yearly, so I will just have to work my hardest and audition for as many companies as possible.

The weather in South Carolina is very mild and often pleasant. It is sunny a lot, even in the winter, which makes it more enjoyable walking to classes. The summers are very hot, but the buildings are very well air conditioned.

Parking is somewhat limited due to the amount of students with vehicles.

I am not one for much diversity, but there is plenty of it here and it is a good thing that everyone can fit in.

I have my own computer so I do not use the schools computers much. The few times I have, they seemed to work well and had no problems, but I have not used them enough to give a good review.

The food is very good and I was personally impressed by the quality of it. I thought that my college food life was going to be full of fast food and mystery meat. It is actually very healthy and well cooked. I can't find much to complain about. My personal favorite is the Greek food place called Santorinis in the Russell House.

There is in-state student scholarships, however, despite huge financial help I'm not really digging the USC experience. Therefore, I'm looking for transferring elsewhere.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
