The school has a variety of dining options ranging from the commons where we have Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Chick Fill'a and Burger King to the large variety of more dinning hall styled meals. We have several Starbucks as well as a very chiq cafeteria called colloqium which offers a healthier alternative.

In my opinion there is not enough apartments surrounding campus, there should be plenty more apartment buildings which are the most efficient for student living. However the apartment buildings that do exist are of low quality and not very good. I've heard complaints about almost all of them, houses surrounding campus are also very expensive and extremely old and in bad shape. If you would like to find a good house close to campus and in optimal conditions you're talking about several thousands in rent per month.

If this school is known for anything, then it is for the athletics. There are many sports teams, though the most famous is the football. The support of the fans is simply incredible at the games. The energy and charisma seems to bring the university together... it is a fantastic thing to witness! Even though I joined this school for the academics, even I couldn't help feeling unified when I went to my first football game.

This campus is very large and is in the city of Columbia. Therefore, you can go to places off of campus very easily. There are many communities and clubs to belong to, including a skydiving group, a Quidditch team, and acapella singing groups. There is a ton of variety with classes, too. I actually chose USC due to the Japanese classes offered.

At the Russell House there are plenty of dining options, although sometimes after awhile they might get a little repetitive. It bothers me that breakfast opens late on the weekend (9:00am!) since I tend to be a morning person. Otherwise, the Russell House is convenient due to its location on campus. There's a chart posted in multiple locations of the Russell House that tells you the business hours of the multiple dining options.

If you don't own a car, be prepared with an umbrella if necessary. Since some of the buildings are a great distance away from other buildings, you end up walking quite a ways if you don't have a ride. An umbrella or rain poncho is handy to keep around.

My housing family at the University of South Carolina is Sims in the Women's Quad. The environment is very friendly and peaceful. Too bad this community is being renovated next year. I love the layout of the rooms and the study room down the hall. The only complaint I have is the mold, although that is why the building is being revamped. Overall, it has been a great experience.

I am a dance performance and exercise science major. I am thoroughly enjoying being in the dance program. I would like to become a professional dancer and later possibly a physical therapist. The job market for any dancer is risky, since contracts are only yearly, so I will just have to work my hardest and audition for as many companies as possible.

The weather in South Carolina is very mild and often pleasant. It is sunny a lot, even in the winter, which makes it more enjoyable walking to classes. The summers are very hot, but the buildings are very well air conditioned.

Parking is somewhat limited due to the amount of students with vehicles.

I am not one for much diversity, but there is plenty of it here and it is a good thing that everyone can fit in.

I have my own computer so I do not use the schools computers much. The few times I have, they seemed to work well and had no problems, but I have not used them enough to give a good review.

The food is very good and I was personally impressed by the quality of it. I thought that my college food life was going to be full of fast food and mystery meat. It is actually very healthy and well cooked. I can't find much to complain about. My personal favorite is the Greek food place called Santorinis in the Russell House.

There is in-state student scholarships, however, despite huge financial help I'm not really digging the USC experience. Therefore, I'm looking for transferring elsewhere.

Policy enforcement is pretty much strict here. If any alcohol affiliated objects are in your room during room check you get fined $250. However, there's barely any room checks in my dorm. It's usually depends mostly on ur RM.

I rarely see diversity at University of South Carolina. The minority groups however tend to hang out and are pretty tight knit with each other. LGBT group usually have random events on campus. Religion in the school is pretty much Christian-affiliated.

I am in the college of Arts and Sciences as a Dance Performance major. We get excellent instruction and training from the professors who were accomplished professional dancers at New York City Ballet and Boston Ballet. The director genuinely cares about every dancer and is constantly looking for new ways to improve the curriculum. There are many opportunities to work with guest choreographers, and for students to choreograph on other students. There are two professional ballet companies in Columbia and several modern dance companies that hire graduates.

Sports at USC are huge! Our football team is amazing and the games are so much fun to watch. The whole campus is rowdy on game days and there is so much school spirit! Everyone always tailgates before the games which is really fun.

Every time I have gone out with my friends, I have seen drug and alcohol use by students. Although not everyone is doing it, you can definitely spot people who are.

I have seen quite a diverse student body so far during my time at USC. I haven't seen any problems personally. As we are all in college, we all have a certain level of tolerance and acceptance of others. Any issues I have seen are everyday banter that is generally solved by arguing it out then walking away.

Public transportation is provided for on campus travel. Shuttles are available to get around campus, and even to some off campus housing areas, depending on where you are located. There are parking garages and lots for those who bring cars, but it is better to pay for a spot than to chance waiting for parking meters. It is a walkable campus, so walking is also a good way to get where you're going. Bikes, mopeds, and longboards/skateboards are also a favored way of travelling.

School policies on drinking and drugs have been enforced and have become stricter. Fines for being caught with either have been raised from $50 to $250 for drinking and $350 for drugs. The university is determined to lessen these issues and make the environment better for everyone.

There are a lot of awesome things on campus that set us apart from other universities. We have the horseshoe which is where our campus started. There is an old library on the horseshoe that has tons of old original pieces of work and books in there. And the most rare thing is we have a grave on campus that is one of our presidents of the university.

We have all different kinds of diversity on campus. We have people from all over the U.S. as well as international students. We have LGBT programs and clubs as well as different clubs for the international students.

Campus housing is good. I stay in Patterson and it's only a couple of years old. Janitors are in the dorms all day cleaning and every couple of weeks they come in and clean your sink and bathroom.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
