There is not much I can say about this.
The police does show up pretty much every weekend at the parties.

To tell the truth, there are not too many options.
There are always parties at different apartments, but it is not unusual that the police will show up.
There are not too many transportation options, so if you go out it is necessary to have a designated driver. However, as I said before many parties and weekend gatherings occur at the apartments.

All facilities are great. The school is growing and therefore building new facilities and remodeling.
A wellness center was recently built. It has a great gym, indoor pool, squash. New coffee shops were opened as wells.
Athletic facilities are modern and have all the necessary equipment.
I believe there is a project to build a new library.
The school recently opened a building for the business school in downtown. The building has state of the art technology, very environmental friendly and the location is great because it allows students to be on a constant contact with different successful professional and businesses.

I have been awarded loans from my school but not scholarships or grants. Looking for scholarships and getting help from the financial aid department have been awful and frustrating. I suggest making repeat in-person appointments with the fininacial aid office. This would be great to do if you dont live too far from the school.

I have not been at The University of South Carolina for long, but what I have seen has been good. Coming from a very small town, the campus can be over welming but overall it is an exciting place to be. There are a lot of different things to do and there are a lot of different activites you can become involved in.

Columbia With a Capital HOT – During the summer may locals call Columbia, SC the center of the sun or hell on earth because of how hot it is. When it rains it pours and it comes in very helpful to have rainboots. I have not yet been in Columbia during hte winter but they do not recieve much snow and schools are bairly closed. The heat seems to affect some of the students but mostly if you, as a student, stay active and well hydrated you will be fine.

The Horseshoe – our campus has beautiful scenery. Every where you turn there are trees, flowers, and bushes. The horseshoe, actual horseshoe shaped common area, is in the heart of campus and is a great place to study, chill, play games, and have fun. It adds to the very relaxed, welcoming atmosphere on campus. The international business program and business school are definitely one of the best in the nation.

International Business & Marketing – The curriculum and work load is intensive, but the benefits pay off well. The classroom and real life training prepares you for upcoming internships and opportunities. It is very competitive, but you are among peers that work hard and are dedicated just as you are :)

The campus keep track of your online sites you choose to visit. If your using campus internet, they flag your computer for view pornography. They are relatively strict about drinking and drug use. There are cameras and offers that patrol the area at all hours. They have shuttles that will take students to 5points for the night life so they don't have to worry about students drinking and driving. The campus looks bout for their students, for the students safety and to make them look good.

Computer Access – The University of South Carolina has tried to make it convenient for students to have computer access. They have recently installed AT&T Wifi all over campus for the students that have laptop computers. And for those that don't the Thomas Cooper Library has a Mac lab along with multiple Dell computers. They cheap printing cost and some dorms even offer free printing. Preston, for example, has a Mac lab in it's dorm that allows access to just the residents of the dorm and offers free printing, as long as you provide your own paper.
