USF Sarasota Manatee is a small satellite school, with lots of potential to grow. It's situated in Sarasota, FL which is outside of bigger cities like St. Petersburg and Tampa Florida which are only about half an hour away. There are lots of great beaches, museums, and shopping between Sarasota and Tampa. I love the area.

Since this is a satellite to the main campus in Tampa, the facilities are sparse. They try to do what they can with what they have but it's pretty pathetic. THere's no bookstore or library on campus - you have to go to the college down the street to share theirs. Which begs the question, why not just go there?

With the high rate of tuition, then all the extra fees they are allowed to tack on, I find it unconscionable that USF charges for parking at USFSM. I can see it in the parking garages on the Tampa campus but for the SM campus, it's a disgrace. Just rape the students for more because you can, appears to be the attitude.

Since there is no housing on-campus, the off-campus housing is all that's available. Local rents are high in Sarasota but more reasonable in Bradenton. It pays to shop around.

The personnel in the Financial Aid office are incapable of independent thought or logic. If it's not written clearly in front of them, and pantomimed for them as well, they just don't get it. Always have to stay one step ahead of them and follow up, follow up, follow up. The "real" financial aid office is in Tampa - the Sarasota-Manatee office is just a satellite and they don't have any authority or decision-making ability (truly) there.

Over priced and not the greatest. Not really a dining hall but more of a cafe. It's not really dressed up but the seating outside is really nice and scenic.

Parking isn't too bad. It is a fairly small campus so I never have too worry about finding a spot. I think there should be more visitor parking though.

I take online classes and occasionally on-campus classes. I have never had class canceled due to weather. We are known for afternoon thunderstorms during the summer time and warmer weather throughout the day, year round.

I am in the college of education. There are lots of programs and student organizations to be a part of. The school is kept very clean and all the professors truly care. Even the dean of Ed students walk around, and that shows he is doing his job. Wonderful school overall!

I have not seen much going on at the Sarasota Manatee campus at all

Not showing up for first day enrolement classes, and you will be dropped from the class. Dishonesty in presenting your paper(plagerism) is stickly enforce and you will be dropped from class and may be expelled from the USF. If a student does any of these things,Illegal parking, no parking sticker, parking in handicap places they will receive a $30.00 ticket. It would be nice to receive a warning ticket, rather than always getting a ticket. I have never received a ticket, because I follow the rules.

computers are sometimes full, but evenings is the best time to find CP. Printers are usually with a waiting line. Need more working computers. About 50% of students bring their lab tops. Additional computers available at New College.

Lots of papers to find out, and fill out forms on the computer. When finally completed I did receive my money in a timely manor.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
