Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Most students sincerely enjoy USF. Students can look forward to meeting many people from diverse backgrounds, and the teachers are strong role models for students. While classes are sometimes stressful and unbearable, the lessons taught outside of school are invaluable. Sometimes classes can be difficult, but the school offers students numerous ways to relieve their anxieties and stress. With the various top-notch facilities on campus, nighttime activities, dining out, or just laying around in the sun, USF has much more to offer than rock-solid academics. Even shy students who find venturing to a new school hard on them grow fond of USF quickly.

Of course, college is what you make of it. Students who spend their time in their dorm rooms miss out on opportunities to make friends and grow as individuals. Those who get involved in student activities seem to enjoy their college experience much more than those who choose not to get involved. That’s why it is important to take advantage of the opportunities that USF presents to its students. Overall, most students who come to USF enjoy their time there, even if the University was not their first choice of schools.

USF Is Extremely Diverse from Many Perspectives

USF can be found in an urban area within Tampa. Students of many different ethnic, economic, political, religious, and sexually-oriented backgrounds attend USF. There is an organization for just about every perspective and background. Without a doubt, new college students can expect to have their eyes opened and learn about dozens of different views, cultures, and backgrounds when they attend USF. The best thing about USF's diversity is that every student can acquire a culturally diverse and accepting perspective without being pressured or pushed by people with differing beliefs.

Greek Life at University of South Florida

Greek Life - Good Experience but Not Necessary

Greek life is really diverse at USF. There is a fraternity or sorority for just about anything including socializing, leadership, service, or culture. Greeks have their own housing called "Greek Village" available but it is not mandatory. Although Greek students tend to be found in leadership positions in a lot of organizations like Student Government, it's not really a big deal if you join a fraternity or sorority. It can augment your university experience but it isn't necessary in order to have a great experience at USF.

Anthropology

From classes I have taken in the past, I have learned so much about the world and people, just from a few classes. It is the gateway to solving social porlbems such as racism which is why I have a passion for it. More work in the field of anthropology will help bring solutions to worldly problems.
