College Prowler Take

Professors at USF are generally knowledgeable about subject matter, willing to work with students, and intent on helping students pass. However, there is always the chance that students will end up with a graduate student professor who can barely speak English, or an 80-year-old science professor that makes Ben Stein look like Robin Williams. While these kinds of classes can seem unbearable, students must sometimes force themselves to suffer through them because the class with the horrible professor just happens to be the only class that meets the credit requirement. On the other hand, most students will be lucky enough to come into contact with at least a few professors during their time at USF that will have an incredible impact on their life.

Because of recent budget cuts, classes are sometimes crowded and intimidating. USF is aiming to expand the University so that it may get more funding and offer more classes, but the school still has a long way to go. Some departments are faring better than others, but some have been exhausted by an overabundance of students. Although USF offers a variety of majors, clubs, and resources for its students, the hectic environment can sometimes make classes more difficult and confusing than they normally would be.

The teachers are great teachers....

The teachers are great teachers. They really know the material, and during their office hours, they do what they can to help the students understand. The classes are, for the most part, very interesting; otherwise, I would not be taking them. There are some classes that have to be taken because the major requires these classes. Some of these classes can be very boring.

For the most part, teachers are good. The problem is when you get a bad one they’re normally really, really, bad.

For the most part, the teachers here are quite good. On occasion, you get a teacher who is there to just make your life difficult, but everyone will leave USF with one teacher in mind who left a great impression.

A+

I came to the University of South Florida originally for Engineering. After changing my major to Exercise Science, it was great. The teacher's are really nice and teach in interactive ways that make lessons fun and entertaining. Professors make the time to meet with you if there are any questions that need answering.

Most of my professors have been excellent, but I have had some very lousy graduate student professors who should not be teaching.
