Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The police on campus do what they feel is necessary to promote the students’ best interests. Officers do not normally interfere with parties on campus, unless a problem arises or students are drinking outdoors. It isn't unusual for students to be fined or arrested for drinking outside of their buildings on campus. Yet, while underage drinking on campus is common, the police do not normally bother those students who are not bothering others. Some students who have been caught have been lucky enough to get off with just a warning, but students should always be prepared for the worst scenario.

Campus police are always out on the prowl, looking for students who are running through red lights and racing through campus in their cars. The campus police also crack down on drinking and driving, setting up DUI checkpoints and increasing patrol on weekends when big parties happen. While this can be a hassle for some students, others feel safer knowing that the police are out there doing their jobs. Police only hassle skateboarders during business hours, leaving all night for them to grind ledges. Students who want to steal bikes should be aware that many of the bike thieves on campus have been caught in previous years. The officers on campus are strict enough to keep fools from causing trouble on campus, but lenient enough to help students out if they’re in a bind.

Lenient When It Shouldn't Be, Strict When It Shouldn't Either

University of South Florida is a great school. I will always be a BULL. However, they are not strict enough about some things that really bother me, like smoking on campus. I have severe asthma and i feel like i am choking.
