Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Although alcohol is consumed at just about every place on campus where the residents are old enough to drink, drugs and alcohol are much more prevalent off campus than on campus. Marijuana is sometimes found in the dorms, but most students weigh the use of marijuana against the consequences and decide that it is safest to take their recreational drug use off campus. Xanax bars are also sometimes found amongst the residents at USF. The penalties for all drugs on campus are serious and can sometimes result in expulsion from the University.

The drug scene outside of campus is pretty big. College students have been known to use cocaine, smoke pot, take pills, and get drunk in one night. This type of drug use is extremely dangerous and has had some serious consequences in the past, but it seems that most USF students know their limits. Ecstasy is ascending in popularity in the University apartment complexes surrounding USF, but those who are not interested in using drugs will have no problem staying away from them.

Smoking

Its common to see people smoking weed at or around USF. Although, the campus police are very strict at prohibiting this. However, it is so easy to get a hold of some. If you don't know anyone, you probably know someone that knows someone who has or sells weed.

Smoking Is Visible

I see many smokers on campus everyday even though it is suppose to be banned. I think they need to reinforce the no smoking on campus rule more because I still see smokers on campus everyday.

Not All That Bad!

Honestly, the drug scene at USF isn't very noticeable. Depending on who you hang around, and exactly how much you hang around, you may or may not notice it at all. I probably see more drinking at parties and on the weekends, as well as ALOT of tobacco use.
