College Prowler Take
Although alcohol is consumed just about every place on campus where the residents are old enough to drink, drugs and alcohol are much more prevalent off campus than on campus. Marijuana is sometimes found in the dorms, but most students weigh the use of marijuana against the consequences and decide that it is safest to take their recreational drug use off campus. Xanax bars are also sometimes found amongst the residents at USF. The penalties for all drugs on campus are serious and can sometimes result in expulsion from the University.
The drug scene outside of campus is pretty big. College students have been known to use cocaine, smoke pot, take pills, and get drunk in one night. This type of drug use is extremely dangerous and has had some serious consequences in the past, but it seems that most USF students know their limits. Ecstasy is ascending in popularity in the college apartment complexes surrounding USF, but those who are not interested in using drugs will have no problem staying away from them.

Drugs are there if you want them to be. If not, they might as well not exist. |

Marijuana is not the best thing to use while trying to study. It makes things a lot more difficult to remember. Surprisingly large amount of students use it. |

I think I used to hear a lot more about drug use on campus my freshman year because I was around a lot more people who were doing drugs. You have to know someone who is going to hook you up with drugs because, apparently, they are not as easy to get as you might think they are. I don’t think it is an extremely bad problem. |

It’s always best to do all your business off campus. If a student is caught with drugs or alcohol twice, they can possibly be expelled from all Florida universities. |
