Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Thousands of dollars are spent on the facilities at USF each year, and everything is getting bigger and better, as more students come to the school. While this is great for students, it also means added tuition costs and higher fees. Many of the facilities are crowded during peak hours, so be prepared to wait to use some of the exercise equipment at the gym or the pool tables in the game room. The variety of activities on campus is superb, and most students can easily find something that suits their own personal interests. USF also plays home to the Sun Dome, a large arena that hosts concerts, conventions, lectures, and some sports competitions. USF offers dozens of things for students to do, so those who claim to be bored have no excuse.

By far, USF's College of Medicine has the most updated facilities. It works out for med students, but some other degree fields have lesser-quality areas with which to work. The areas that are used by everyone are very well kept and up-to-date, such as the student union known as the Marshall Student Center. The campus is constantly growing and improving to stay with the times.

Being on the Water Is Rad

I really like being able to walk outside after classes and just look at the water, the wildlife, and the boats in the marina. The campus is generally pretty (minus the current construction) and I really like being there. I live at home, so I haven't really explored too much, but I like it here.

Campus Facilities

The gym, library and other general campus areas are excellent. The library is equipped not just to have books, but computers, starbucks, stationary vending machine and a system of borrowing laptops and study rooms. The area is vert friendly and its somewhat like home. The gym has excellent equipment and it offers classes they help a student to relax and work out.

USF Mini Tour Review

For the most park it IS a beautiful campus. Parking sucks and its super expensive, parking services are very quick to catch you without u too.

The Marshall Center (student center) is huge and you can practically live in there especially for studying there is plenty of restaurants, vending machines, computer lab, additional study rooms and there are always events. library is big but DEFINATELY needs updating (guess all the money went to our athletic dept :)our Sundome is right next to our gym and they have been newly renovated to be even bigger than before. if you are looking for extracurriculars, there is absolutely something for everyone!

"Green" Initiatives

USF uses the Bull Runner, a bus/shuttle service that runs on biodiesel fuel and is free with a valid USF ID.

Favorite Things To Do

"Movies on the Lawn" (MOTL) is a bi-monthly USF tradition, in which free, out-of-theatres-but-not-yet-on-DVD movies are shown for students. The Bull Market is a weekly marketplace where students can purchase secondhand books, jewelry, and food. Intramural sports are a great way for student groups to get involved with some recreational athletic activity. Between classes, students can play tennis, basketball, lift weights, or swim at the rec center. They can also get a bite to eat at one of the various restaurants around campus, play pool in Beef's, check out one of the various museums and galleries located around campus, or catch a theater performance.

Did You Know? The Marshall Student Center was completely rebuilt in 2008 and cost $64 million to build.
