Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Thousands of dollars are spent on the facilities at USF each year, and everything is getting bigger and better, as more students come to the school. While this is great for students, it also means added tuition costs and higher fees. Many of the facilities are crowded during peak hours, so be prepared to wait to use some of the exercise equipment at the gym or the pool tables in the game room. The variety of activities on campus is superb, and most students can easily find something that suits their own personal interests. USF also plays home to the Sun Dome, a large arena that hosts concerts, conventions, lectures, and some sports competitions. USF offers dozens of things for students to do, so those who claim to be bored have no excuse.

By far, USF's College of Medicine has the most updated facilities. It works out for med students, but some other degree fields have lesser-quality areas with which to work. The areas that are used by everyone are very well kept and up-to-date, such as the student union known as the Marshall Student Center. The campus is constantly growing and improving to stay with the times.

Library

I love that the library is open 24hrs but its mostly cramped with old furniture without many SILENT or super quiet areas. all the desks are old and written on and almost always freezing. the private study rooms are small and cramped and not properly placed. they are in main areas where all the talking in the rooms means people outside can hear noise. I really wish they would renovate the whole libary!

Always Upgrading

Brand new gym, Student Union (Marshall Center), Dining halls and student living. All up to par, but gotta watch out for those Cooper Elevators.

"Green" Initiatives

USF uses the Bull Runner, a bus/shuttle service that runs on biodiesel fuel and is free with a valid USF ID.

Favorite Things To Do

"Movies on the Lawn" (MOTL) is a bi-monthly USF tradition, in which free, out-of-theatres-but-not-yet-on-DVD movies are shown for students. The Bull Market is a weekly marketplace where students can purchase secondhand books, jewelry, and food. Intramural sports are a great way for student groups to get involved with some recreational athletic activity. Between classes, students can play tennis, basketball, lift weights, or swim at the rec center. They can also get a bite to eat at one of the various restaurants around campus, play pool in Beef's, check out one of the various museums and galleries located around campus, or catch a theater performance.
