Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students at USF generally feel safe on campus. Most areas of the campus are lit up at night, so students need not fear that there is someone lurking in the shadows. However, for those who are afraid to walk alone late at night, the SAFE Team will transport students anywhere on campus. SAFE Team’s presence also deters criminals from committing crimes because of the elevated possibility that their acts will be observed. There are also several emergency call-boxes that are conveniently located throughout campus. The University Police Department does an excellent job of making students feel safe during their time on campus.

The most commonly reported crime at USF is theft. Most of these thefts are incidents that could have been prevented if students had taken the time to lock their residence doors, their car doors, or their bicycles. Students should take advantage of the school’s crime prevention programs, which are offered at various times throughout the year and are free of charge. If students ever have any questions about their personal safety or security, they are encouraged to contact the University Police Department at any time; the officers are very friendly and eager to help any chance they get.

USF Is as Safe as It Gets

I have been at University of South Florida for two full years now and I have never had any issues with safety or health. Campus police are always around in a non-oppressive way and willing to help if needed. Also, late at night there are usually security guys hanging around where there is student traffic. As far as health, the on campus clinic is very helpful and they are always running promotions about staying healthy.

Safe Campus.

I feel really safe on campus. They have plenty of security officers that care about the saftey of the students. The faculty also cares for the health of thier students because this past fall, they had completly banned smoking near campus. This gives student a better chance of quitting.

Very Good Security and Safety

USF provides some very good health and safety measures, especially with the nighttime safety patrols through the parking lots and all over campus. The safe team is really helpful late at night, can give you rides, etc. Health options are also very good, and really accessible.
