Disappointed

When I first got accepted last year, I got multiple emails and letters saying that the University was going to offer me scholarships. I even completed a thank-you letter to the donor that was requested of me through writing so that I could receive the scholarship. Then one day, before I started my first summer session, the scholarships they promised disappeared from my online account. When I tried calling to inquire, I was placed on hold for over 30 minutes to an hour. I don't remember what the person said when I finally was able to speak to someone, but I never got any of the scholarships they claimed I had been awarded. I don't know what to suggest to others because I need advice myself. :(

Advice on Financial Aid

Submit as early as possible! Each year, Financial Aid posts a priority deadline. If you get your FAFSA in by that date, you're guaranteed priority consideration. After that date, it's on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have to visit a counselor, make an appointment. Lines are often long in the office. Have everything ready and copied before you go there because they will not make copies for you. If you're only turning in paperwork, you can skip the line and turn it in. Check OASIS and your email often, and make sure you have your requirements satisfied. Constantly check online for scholarships from various scholarship websites.
