Urban Legends
- On certain nights of the year, a group of vampires gather together in the basement of Cooper Hall.

Traditions
- Bull Market - This is a marketplace where people can come together to share ideas, cultures, and sell homemade goods. Bull Market is held every Wednesday afternoon and is located between Cooper Hall and the Sun Dome.
- Homecoming - USF sets aside an entire week for Homecoming events. The week begins with Bull-Raid, a competition where student organizations decorate local businesses in green and gold to show their USF support. The week also features a Masquerade Ball, a night of laughs with a comedy show called Stampede and a carnival. The week ends with the Homecoming football game at Raymond James Stadium, which is also where the Bucs play.
- Movies on the Lawn - MOTL began after the Special Events Center was constructed at USF. The wall of the SEC made an excellent movie screen, so students began to gather every Wednesday night to watch a movie that had already been out in theaters, but wasn’t on video quite yet. Three-hundred students attend this event every week.
- The Stampeding Herd of Thunder - Though the Herd hasn’t been around for very long, USF’s marching band has become a huge tradition alongside the growth of USF’s athletic department. They’re called the Stampeding Herd of Thunder because of their unique entrance onto the field at football games. They “stampede” the field, running out onto it rather than entering the field in a traditional fashion.
School Spirit
In every crowd, expect to find plenty of students wearing green and gold and showing support for their school. The school’s athletic department has grown in recent years, pushing a rise in school spirit at the University. Because the Bulls are Tampa’s only college football team, Tampa residents are strong supporters of the school’s sports teams. Homecoming keeps getting bigger, and if these larger turnouts are any indication of what the future holds, USF is sure to become one of the most followed college football teams in the country.
