Absolutely beautiful weather almost any day of the week.
College Sophomore 2013-06-28T15:33:57Z
The nightlife is basically limited to sorority and fraternity row. Good for girls, bad for guys not involved in fraternities.

Lots of documents to submit, but after that its pretty easy and you receive a lot of financial aid

The school spirit and Trojan family make you feel instantly accepted into our special community as soon as you receive your letter of acceptance. The Trojan family is a unique combination of current students and alumni that care about USC and the experience that new students will have at the university. I must say that school pride is contagious due to the excellent alumni participation in school activities.

Athletics is the heart of USC. It truly bring students, their families, staff, faculty, and alumni together to support the university as a whole. Go Trojans!

USC is a strict campus for a number of reasons. First, the campus is so large and the number of students on it at any time is also very large. The campus does its best to be strict in order to ensure the safety of its students, faulty, and staff.

With the location of USC, the culture is undeniable, as is the food. There are a multitude of options on every corner that can be appeasing to everyone. There are traditional American cuisine restaurants and also ethnic food sections of the city. As a vegetarian, I have never had a problem finding something delicious to eat in the surrounding area.

I was initially very confused about the progress of financial aid with the transition from undergraduate to graduate school. I called the financial aid office at USC and they were extremely helpful. They walked me through the process and the numbers to ensure that I had a full understanding of what I needed to do.

Most people own their own computer but labs are available most of the time and WiFi is always on.

There is lots of Trojan football spirit and actually many other sports that "go all the way". If you aren't just a spectator, numerous clubs and intramural teams and sports are available that can be fairly competitive or just for fun. Home football Saturdays are really crazy and super fun!

There are plenty of very nice apartments with lots of amenities near campus if you want to pay for them. Most students live off campus by second semester sophomore year so follow your friends, make contacts with upper classmen and check with housing office on campus.

Public transit connects the major areas and reasonable prices are available for parking, but the LA region is heavily congested, making commute times slow.

Strong international group, mostly from the Asias (China India, etc). Mostly higher end economic backgrounds.

We have an awesome biomechanics lab in the physical therapy building. There are also multiple hospitals on campus.

Guys & Girls:
I attend school on the health science campus so we are all nerds. The men and women are generally fit and most are friendly.

You will get all of your questions answered if you go directly into the financial aid office to speak to the man in charge. Emailing the FAO will get you nowhere.

I go to school on the health science campus of USC and it is really lacking in campus events.
College Sophomore 2013-06-14T18:53:52Z
There is a bar on campus called Traddies, and a bar a couple of blocks down Figueroa called the 9-0. I've never been to the 9-0 so I'm not sure how lax they are on carding, but it's a popular place to go to. Traddies lets you in regardless of whether or not you are 21, but they give you a wristband if you are 21 and planning to drink. For those under 21: Another popular place to go is Frat Row on Thursdays to Saturdays, but Thirsty Thursday is when it's most packed. It's three blocks on 28th street full of frat and sorority houses, and unfortunately only girls are really allowed to party unless you know somebody or you have to pay a cover fee. Transportation is really easy because USC provides basically a free taxi called Campus Cruiser that picks you up and drops you off anywhere within one mile of campus if you call them. You can also pretty much walk to anywhere popular from campus. Nightlife at USC is pretty much awesomeeee

Guys & Girls:
The guys and girls there are very similar in that they are very preppy, into fitness and going to the gym, and they like to party a lot. The Greek system is very prominent at USC but it's definitely not a necessity to have fun, although you will know/see a lot of people who are in sororities and frats. Most guys and girls are pretty hot at SC and have the upbringing and the money to back them up. There are a lot of international students as well but they mostly spend time in the library....

Live on the 4th floor of New or North. Its fun and social but smaller and quieter than 2nd or 3rd and you get a giant room and your own sink. For all the dorms, if stuff breaks (i.e. the washing machine) it won't get fixed.
College Sophomore 2013-06-13T18:25:41Z
Most professors that I've had have been great. If you make an effort to get to know them they are very happy and you'll probably get a better grade.
College Sophomore 2013-06-13T18:24:15Z
Health & Safety:
Since the laptop-stealing and shooting incidents, USC has cracked down on campus security. It is now a closed campus at night with only students and registered guests allowed to enter after 9pm. New fingerprinting measures in the dorms make it almost impossible for anyone except students who live there to enter. I'm grateful for the extra safety but I am so happy I'm moving off-campus next semesters so I don't have to deal with it anymore.
College Sophomore 2013-06-13T17:33:24Z
I decided to go to USC for my MFA this fall because during callback weekend the department made me feel right at home. They treated me not as a student who was beneath them, but as an equal in my field. As a graduate student this was very important to me because I am not a child anymore; I am a professional looking to expand my knowledge in my field.
College Sophomore 2013-06-12T04:37:22Z
FOOTBALL FOOTBALL FOOTBALL. USC football is HUGE and the atmosphere is something you want to be apart of. School spirit is never lacking in the athletics department. Facilities are top notch and many are involved in intramural sports and classes.
College Sophomore 2013-06-12T04:26:33Z
Depending on which professor you get really determines the grading policies but any sort of cheating or offense can be detrimental. The social atmosphere is great yet there's a good amount of security around too.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
