Very big selection with the chance to add minors and even create your own major that deals with all the areas you are interested in

I like that there are multicultural greek orgs at our campus and that there is a diverse group of which to choose from but sometimes there is a negative view of greeks because of past events.

there are a lot of choices even though most dorms are very similar. They make a great effort to accommodate anyone who needs hosing, although it is a little overpriced. But safety is a priority.

Off campus dining isn't anything special, you have to go a few miles for anything too high end. Lots of college kid grub though.

Student life is very vibrant. From concerts to sporting events, there is always something SC sponsored to do.

I'm absolutely happy with my program, I believe it to be an innovative way to prepare a student for a career in the music industry. It creates flexible, dynamic, whole musicians who are capable in a number of different musical fields.

I am a member of the Popular Music Performance program at USC. I had to submit a pre screen DVD of myself performing several different contrasting numbers, and then fly to LA for a live audition. The acceptance rate into my program is around 8%, so it was fairly difficult.

Parking is almost impossible if you don't have a permit. Permits are very expensive. If you have to find parking, you'll probably have to pay for it and end up getting ticketed.

I'm an English major and I haven't really felt that I've received necessary support or guidance for such a relatively unpopular major.

There's a ton to do in LA and a lot of opportunities for USC students to get involved in the surrounding community and to find a job nearby. There's always something fun to do, provided you have money to spend.

Health & Safety:
I haven't personally felt unsafe but as a freshman I have already heard about and been notified concerning several incidents involving theft, assault and one shooting.

Athletes are treated incredibly well but at a disadvantage to non-athlete students with services like free tutoring.

They tend to be legacy scholarships or freshmen-only. It is difficult to obtain anything as a transfer or continuing student.

I am pretty sure only one library has computers and the number is far too few for the amount of students wishing to use them.

Zip cars, enterprise rentals, free usc shuttles, campus cruiser. . . so much variety!
Recent Alumnus 2012-12-07T00:59:53Z
Lacking consistency: some are newly remodeled, others verge on dilapidated. All overpriced. Not enough spaces to accommodate student body. lacking A/C in many units.

Very Diverse – USC is amazingly diverse--people from all over the world, of so many ages and socio-economic backgrounds. I am a non-traditional (i.e. older), severely low-income student but I feel comfortable here since there are other people like me. Sure, there are the spoiled kids, but they are at any school.

Tough but Fair – Security is everywhere, which is something I feel is a plus here at USC given its location. Parking of cars and bikes is very strictly enforced. Drug use and underage drinking are dealt with quickly and fairly (as in, don't do it or you will suffer the consequences for breaking the rules).

Pretty decent variety of people and diversity at this school, always keeping it interesting.

Not the best, but not the worst. Some don't have AC.

I love that my school is a traditional school. The school pride that everyone contains is amazing. Almost everyone participates in rival week and it's pretty amazing. We had a ferris wheel, a bruin bear bonfire, fireworks, etc. The works. Hands down the school pride is truly great.

Health & Safety:
You are located in a Major city, there is crime, and you often receive notices about some incident, but the campus safety and LAPD work diligently to make sure USC students are safe.

The weather in Southern California is great. It is sunny and warm almost all year long!
