I received a very small amount of aid towards housing, but that was it. I am paying for school all by myself and I am afraid that I will not be able to graduate in a decent financial situation.

The financial aid is confusing and difficult. Though some of the people in the offices are extremely kind and helpful, others make it seem like a factory, trying to shuffle people in and out quickly with less regard for the individual's situation. While I'm in the middle of several appeals, as of right now I have been unable to achieve the aid I need and there is a very good possibility I won't be able to stay past my first semester (if I did, I would need to take on a great deal of loans).
Campus security is helpful however and the people are nice. Not sure if I would do it over again though.

The majority of students are white and come from privileged backgrounds. However, the variety of student organizations that cater to minority groups - whether it is racial, religious, political, economic, or lgbt - are numerous and are highlighted by USC as some of the best student orgs. We have certain stereotypes, but if you really want to learn more about the diversity here at USC, which is rich, you have to be invested in it and actually engage in it.

Get involved with student orgs. on campus, it's the easiest way to make friends. Social life is great, it's really easy to get into a party, but also don't slack on school! Professors are great, the students are awesome.

Health & Safety:
Campus security is very quick. We also receive many emails from the safety department.

There is always something going on at USC. If it isn't a concert, it's a rally or a fair. The surrounding city is also great and there are many fun activities to do. The diversity at USC is one of a kind and the people here are so nice too.

Everything is fantastic, except for the price of parking permits.

Los Angeles area has a very stable weather pattern

There is plenty of nightlife around Los Angeles, but it is very difficult to take public transportation there and back. You'll often need to be designated driver instead.

Worth It – The program helps emphasize all aspects in which EE's are able to work in. EE's can go anywhere with their degrees and everyone is usually hardworking and willing to help because they know its a tough major. All I have to say is, utilize the office hours and never give up.

Always Sunny – I come from Vegas weather, dry and hot heat and this is great weather, but to me it gets chilly at nights just because my body isn't used to the temperatures. But it is overall a great weather experience.

Vibrant City – There is always something to do around the campus and off-campus. Some dorms have little group gatherings at different locations and show the students cites around the city. There is always something to do, and lots to see. The Staple center is just across the freeway, and the Coliseum is across the street. The train/metro helps you go everywhere you need to, just plan ahead.

Bustling With People – Wherever you go, you'll always be surrounded by people. A lot of my friends just hit the gym during their one hour break. There are so many great places to eat at on campus and it's always filled with people where there is good food. I feel that the school puts in an effort to always have something going on on campus.

Guys & Girls:
Everyone Look Nice! I was surprised on the first day of school, most students were dressed very nicely. The girls in particular were dressed in very cute, fashionable summer dresses. Most students seemed to be already in good shape, or working on getting there.

Join Clubs – Unfortunately, I am a transfer and so I feel that it is a little late to be joining clubs, only because I should be focused on my studies. However, there are a lot of clubs with plenty of events and activities going on all the time. I feel that clubs really are the best way to make friends, especially if you're new to the school Otherwise, it is harder to make friends in large lecture halls.

School Was Very Generous! I was able to get a great amount of financial aid; my university grant was the largest in amount. Also, there are great payment plans available. I suggest meeting with a financial counselor so that you are fully aware of your loan and payment status. Also keep in mind that you do not have to accept all the loans offered. For instance, I declined my unsubsidized loan because i figured it was better to just pay the amount off in my monthly payments. Best thing of course is to constantly keep up with scholarship opportunities!

I take my classes through the Virtual Academic Center. I am unable to move due to work and family, so taking courses online was my only option for continuing my education. It is a wonderful experience if you can afford it.

VAC-Virtual academic center is amazing tech for learning online. it surpasses classes I have taken online in the past. I am able to study across the state and never worry about having to go to the campus.

It's Los Angeles – You can get anything if you have a car, after all, it's Los Angeles. There are still probably more off campus dining options within walking distance than 95% of other schools have in total, but a lot of it's junk food. Great student discounts though!

Take a Bus or Train – Many options, however the most used is the train or bus.

Sunny California! Need I say more! USC is located in Los Angeles, where the weather is never bad. I give it an A- mainly because we have so many hot days, that it's nice to have a break now and then to cool off.

Social Work – I love my social work program at USC. The instructors are very energetic and it makes one feel happy to be there. The school is also enthusiastic about education and their students being the best of the best. I enjoy the program because it's been my hearts desire to help others and I found a program/school that helps me feel excited to be there. One of the main reasons I chose USC was for the curriculum. This school was one of the only schools I could locate that would work with my busy schedule and a graduate program. I'm able to maintain full-time employment while attending school a little more than part-time and it's not killing me!
College Senior 2012-09-04T20:11:11Z
Always Sunny in California! Really, the weather is great. For one month (August) it's really, really hot, and for one month (December or January) it's cold enough to need a space heater at night. Other than that, sunny almost every day, with a light breeze, and no humidity.

Love My Major – I love social work and would definitely recommend USC's MSW program.

Excellent Training – I'm a graduate student and USC doesn't wait to make us get into the field. We are our there almost immediately.
