Get a season parking permit, and assume that, on any given day, there will not be parking for you. Always have a backup plan. The parking is certainly available elsewhere, but you need to be resourceful. lots of us will park in a friend's spot in their apartment complex and walk over.

The weather at USC is great if you like the Mediterranean climate.

SO MANY OPTIONS – First of all I have the coolest major, Business in Cinematic Arts with an even cooler minor in Digital Media. Pretty much I'm learning how to produce movies and graphic design/write code/edit movies/sound mix/anything to do with media. If I wanted to, i could pick up any other minor, or even switch to one of the tons of other majors. There is something for everyone here, and if you don't like it, you can change. Or if you feel like you want something more, you can minor or double major, in fact USC really encourages students to have more than one major or minor.

Guys & Girls:
Gorgeous Girls, and Really Hot Guys – So you will find quite a handful of preppy dressing, pink short-wearing guys who come from the east coast or have joined TKE. Also, there are a handful who sport the Hawaiian USC shirts, which I haven't figured out is a joke or actual fashion statement from yet. But none of the guys are bad dressers; even if its not necessarily your type, these guys made anything look good. I was shocked how many good looking people I saw on campus every day; if you step into the Campus Center from 11-2, Mon through Thurs you are bound to see some good looking people. The girls are all gorgeous too, so if you were the hottest girl at your school....that won't be the case here, sorry.

GREAT Parties....But Other Things Are Harder to Find – If you're over 21, Hollywood is one of the best clubbing scenes in the U.S. For those under 21 you do have some good options, including those at frat houses, the local bar (901, although everyone refers to it as "The 9-Oh"), and some apartment parties. The frat's registered parties can be extremely awesome and fun and usually are a huge event on campus. Campus Cruiser is pretty good at driving you place, but if you get stuck in the Ralph's at 1 AM hiding after a party not quite on campus got broken up due to gang fights, then it takes them a while to come pick you up. For the most part you don't have to walk anywhere you need to go that's around campus.

This is a very tough school and professors are very good

I mostly eat sandwiches or asian (Thia or Japanese) food. And they are pretty good around campus.

Hardly Ever Rains – best weather in the whole country. Although it dosent have the beaches like Miami; my home town. but there is no hummidity and the city of LA does not have such pollution like Miami or Newyork

They always have a campus shuttle around at anytime, anyday.

Would Have Been Nice to Have a Little More Help – No financial aid available and when I called about asking for help with tuition they referred me to someone else. Little scholarships available on their website

The food at Parkside residence hall is fantastic. The cafeteria always has a large selection and the brunch served on weekends is delicious.

USC is the greatest school in the universe! I love going there and am having the best time! My classes are intriguing and inspiring. My professors are entertaining and knowledgeable. They make me want to attend class and learn. The campus is always sunny and clean. All of the students have such great school spirit by wearing USC gear and saying, "Fight On!" I have made such close friends and cannot wait for the next three years there! Another part of the school that I love is the athletics. Tailgating and attending football games with friends has been so much fun and I cannot wait for this fall! USC is the best school and I would recommend it to anyone! Fight on!

Best Housing Experience – I absolutely loved living on campus my freshman year. I lived at Fluor Tower, which was suite style. It was fabulous because I got a larger room, a common room, a kitchenette, and a bathroom. I shared this with seven other girls, so this allowed us to become close and great friends. I loved my experience and would recommend it to all incoming freshmen.

The drug scene is not very big and it is under control. Drinking is a much more popular activity, than drugs. I am so proud of USC for having this issue under control.

Guys & Girls:
Beautiful Bubble – The people at USC are so beautiful, especially in the Greek system. I didn't know there could be this many beautiful people in one place. Although I love it, it does put a lot of pressure to look good and dress well when everybody is worried about eating well and being fit.
College Junior 2012-07-01T01:34:05Z
I didn't apply in time to qualify for scholarships, which sucks. A lot of people who have scholarships can already afford to attend USC, which although is fair because they deserve it, leaves less money for the people who are struggling to pay. My dad closed his business last year and yet I still didn't qualify for financial aid this year for some reason.
College Junior 2012-07-01T01:32:17Z
I Never Want to Leave – I am SO happy to be at USC. I love my sorority and my friends and I love the party scene here. It is so beautiful and warm most of the time. I learn so much in my classes and do a lot of work but still manage to go out and have fun. I hated football before I got here but now it is all I am looking forward to in the fall!
College Junior 2012-07-01T01:30:55Z
There are a lot of parking structures at USC, the only downside is about 800$ a year cost for a permit, which isn't too bad. Also, since it is downtown and the public transportation in LA is horrible, you need a car if you want to get a job.
College Senior 2012-06-29T16:07:16Z
Dangerous Area – I don't think the immediate area for nightlife is safe for going out at night. Students should be aware that LA is dangerous city. The drinks are expensive and students shouldn't waste their money on it. I would figure that a safer alternative is the USC football home games but then again there are riots on the streets. I suggest taking an afternoon trip to the museums or attend a concert where there are a lot of people in the area. Sometimes clubs/bars can not be situated in areas that are close to public transit.
College Senior 2012-06-29T16:02:41Z
Health & Safety:
Play It Street Smart – I can't get over how many students take risks walking alone late at night around 2 a.m. after partying -- especially young women. USC Campus Security has cab service and it's just a phone call away. I don't think students take advantage of the cab fleet. I also think that a lot of crime can be prevented if USC was drug free. A lot of students use drugs to have fun, and there are consequences. I think the LAPD, Campus Security, and students need to be more educated on drugs and the dangers of connecting to drug dealers in LA. There should be more public campaigns on campus for this.

I start usc in the fall but the main reason i chose this program is because their alumni network is very strong and will allow me to have better job opportunities.

For graduate school each class registered needs to be approved by your advisor. So you stay on track.

The weather is one of the best parts of USC! I initially applied to all California schools just because I loved the sunshine and summertime. It is so much easier to get involved in activities and explore a city if the weather is nice all the time! Often times people will not go to class if it is raining or cold by Southern California standards.

Parkside Sucks for Freshman – I lived in Parkside my freshman year, completely sucked. I probably only met my roommate and two other people in my suite and no one from my floor.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
