Health & Safety:
Safe If You're Smart – As long as you keep your head about you, you'll stay out of trouble on University of Southern California's campus. There is definitely danger around campus, especially late at night if you're walking alone on the streets. However, there are plenty of options such as Campus Cruiser provided by USC and many patrolling Department of Public Safety officers to make the campus feel safe.

USC is a party school when you want it to be. If you want to go out on a weekend, there's usually something to attend. Thursdays & Saturdays are the biggest nights to go out. If you're not into partying, however, you don't even notice it's happening unless you live in the New/North dorms.

Football Is Awesome – The football season makes USC and Trojan Pride. It's fantastic.

Campus Activities Are Great – USC's organized campus activities are great and very entertaining. Publicity is great so you always know when events are coming up. Concerts and pep rallies are very exciting and well-attended. Aesthetics on the USC campus are very inviting.

First Choice – USC was my first choice for undergrad. I fell in love with every aspect of the school and feel fortunate to be a part of the school. There are so many ways to get involved in the campus and you can feel the school spirit every day. I would definitely choose my school again.

There is acceptance for any one and everyone that attends USC. Tolerance of others is highly promoted and everyone is allowed to express themselves without being judged or discriminated. There is a good amount of diversify and all sorts of economic backgrounds.

For my first semester of freshman year, I had a fabulous professor for Acting 101. The School of Theatre does many productions during each semester. They also offer a non-conservatory program for acting majors. You can either be a BA or BFA student.

Party School – USC is a huge party school...mostly due to its large greek life. However, you do not need to be a part of that in order to have a decent social life. Girls can get into any frat party, but it is a lot more difficult for guys to get into a party on sorority row if they are not in a frat. The row is basically USC's nightlife, except for the 901 bar on Fig.

USC constantly has events and activities for students, whether it's through its arts program called Visions and Voices, or during Welcome Week freshman year. Visions and Voices is a fabulous program that has well-known and successful entertainers, writers, directors, etc. that come to campus and talk to students. USC also screens many movies for its film students. There is always something for you to do on campus!

Once in the Trojan family, you are connected with the cardinal and gold. Everywhere you go, other Trojans will respect you. It helps with getting jobs, internships, or even just making friends. Having these connections will really help in your life.

There is no need for people to join any fraternity or sorority to enjoy the social scene. They are indeed a large part of the university but aren't all of it. You can still get into the parties they throw which are very fun and sociable.

The university is absolutely diverse. There are people from all places thus making USC one of the largest and best melting pots of the world. Here everyone gets along and the atmosphere is great.

My perception is that everyone generally minds their own business. When I visited USC for the first time, I needed to find a particular building and I couldn't get anyone to stop for a moment and direct me. Everyone seemed to be in a hurry! My advice is to find nice friends and hang out with them. ;)
If you are clever, hardworking, and focused on your goals, you can find everything you need to excel academically at USC.

Diversity Is Key – There is a diverse range of things to do at USC. These activities include clubs, parties, academic discussions, hangouts, and athletic events including football.
College Junior 2011-12-30T06:25:52Z
Computer Labs Are Usually Fairly Open – Computer labs are often uncrowded since most students use their own labtops. It is more efficient to own your own labtop but not having one does not make tasks impossible to complete.

The Greatest – It's easy to get swept up in the social scene, but the academics are also incredible and you learn so much both in class and out of class if you let yourself.
College Junior 2011-12-29T19:08:38Z
Always Something to Do – If you're a guy and don't want to join a frat, forget about trying to get into their parties. However, there are still lots of parties on weekends that that let anyone in (for a couple of bucks) and if you know people and try you can usually find something fun to do. Being in LA also affords you to do lots of awesome stuff like go to LA Live or going to the Sunset Strip, going to clubs, etc. Almost every night there is live music at Ground Zero Cafe and Tommy's Place, so there's almost always something fun to do during the week and weekend.

Some Great, Some Not – Fluor is very spacious, clean, and quiet, but not as social as other dorms. New/North is very social, but because of that its very loud and makes it hard to do work sometimes, and sometimes it lacks privacy. It's not true that Parkside isn't social, it's just incredibly social within itself. It's also probably the nicest of the Freshman dorms and its great if you wanna meet artsy people.
College Junior 2011-12-29T02:06:44Z
Trojan Family – The alumni network is one of the best I hear. While the sciences could benefit greatly from some funding, USC's engineering, business, and film are top notch.
College Junior 2011-12-29T02:02:43Z
My first semester at USC has been a blast. There's plenty to do, plenty of school spirit, and the academics are challenging enough. I've had my hands full since the first day I stepped on campus.

Health & Safety:
Safe - on Campus – There are plenty of on-campus police patrolling at all times of the day; however, off-campus can get a bit sketchy and there is a definite possibility of theft.
College Junior 2011-12-21T10:37:51Z
Up to You – You don't openly see it on campus. You know where they are. It's up to you whether or not you want to go there.
College Junior 2011-12-21T10:36:49Z
FRAT party every week. It's close to downtown if you want to go clubbing.
College Junior 2011-12-21T10:35:44Z
Very Diverse – USC has the most international student population of all the colleges in America. It's hard to discriminate when you see all kinds of people everyday.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
