At USC, it's all about football. Sure we have other sports that frequently win NCAA championships but here in South Central, we LOVE our football. And it unites the whole school!

If you are living off campus, be prepared to shell out major dollars. A single room is going to be at least $800 north of campus, and $700 west of campus. Rooms tend to be small, and can vary widely in quality. Everything is close, but you have to search for a good rate and room.

Calories Galore – Most students just hit Figueroa Street when eating off campus, where there's Chipotle, Chick Fil A, Freebirds, Chanos and just about every fastfood restaurant possible. Most students don't make good use of Olympian Burger or the UV Food Court which both offer tasty and slightly healther, more ethnic food options. You won't be engaging in much fine dining, but you'll get that freshmen 15.

Depends Where You Go – Want to eat on USC's campus? Avoid EVK (Everybody's Kitchen) if you don't want to feel sick later, or want your salmon to not be as hard as a rock. Good news is, after freshmen year, few people go to EVK or the slightly better Parkside dining hall. Most students hang out at the Campus Center's dining options of CPK, Carls Jr, Wahoos, Panda Express, Lemonade and Seeds marketplace. While eating can be a bit pricey, at least you'll be eating slightly better. There are lots of small cafes on campus like Popovich Cafe which offer tasty eats and are less populated. At USC, be picky, and you'll be satisfied

Biological Sciences – I declared my major a few days ago so I do not really know what it is like yet. I have been thinking about pre-pharmacy in the future so I am really passionate about helping people.

Not Very Help. I received a few loans but no financial aid for the extremely high tuition.

Not Too Safe – The local atmosphere around USC is a dangerous one. I receive daily e-mails about crimes that are committed in the area, usually on-campus. Usually, these crimes consist of robberies, rapes, and assaults. The reason why I rated SC as a C- and nothing less, is because it is about 10 minutes from downtown Los Angeles, where there is tons to do.

The professors and all the staff at USC are always excellent. The professors are willing to help, whether it be in or out of class. The registration process is always painless and quick. USC's online system rarely crashes and when it does, the Tech department usually fixes the problem within the hour. The workload at USC is difficult, but as is expected from this great school. Just remember, no pain- no gain!

The local atmosphere at USC is very mixed. There aren't very many attractions nearby but since the school is located near downtown L.A., there is always something to do off campus. The safety, however, is always fairly dangerous off-campus. Although there are USC campus safety patrols around the area, there still are a large number of robberies of USC students, assaults, attacks, etc.

Varsity sports are a big deal at USC and game days are the most exciting days on campus, as it is covered in a sea of cardinal and gold. Also there are a lot of opportunities to play intramural sports.

Extremely Diverse – USC is one of the most diverse campuses in the US. USC recruits for diversity and I feel that it enriches the educational experience.

Great Buzz on Campus – Leavey library was my favorite place to study on campus- there was always a spot available to sit and the general buzz of the rooms were conducive to studying. Commons is a great spot to meet friends for lunch, and it has been vastly improved upon in recent years so I'm looking forward to seeing it. The Lyon Center has ok weight equipment and machines- I used Heritage Hall as I was an athlete.

Top Notch Faculty – I found the professors at USC to be extremely knowledgeable in their respective areas of expertise and the pace of the classes to be fast, but manageable. Professors were available at the end of class or through office hours.

USC is well known for it's strong alumni association. There are countless stories of trojan's helping other trojan's out in the workforce and business world. the campus here is very beautiful and the weather is very sunny! for art and music majors like myself, USC is the perfect school. there is an endless sea of opportunities in Los Angeles and many of the successful session musicians and performers are on faculty at USC.

Pretty Good, It's Los Angeles – there are a lot of things to do in Los Angeles. lots of clubs and nice restaurants in Santa Monica which is nearby. a good bunch of students who go here are from the los angeles area, so it shouldn't be too hard to find someone with a car. public transportation in LA really isn't the best.

Pretty Good, Don't Go Off Campus Late at Night Though – If you didn't know, the surrounding area at USC isn't the best. I don't go off campus usually but there's a Burger King, Subway, and a few other restaurants off campus. There's a grocery store a block of the west side of campus which is really cheap.

I would definitely choose my school again because i had a great experience. I made many friends because I joined the greek community. It was easier for me to study in a open setting because of the nice scenery.

It is sunny southern California. Usually it is a beautiful day that many students decide not to go to school so they could stay out and enjoy the day.

Drug Free – The drug scene at school is not very visible. It is rare when you see any student do drugs. I personally have never seen it only heard it. Drinking is big at school.

Great School Spirit – I fell in love with USC because of the incredible amount of school spirit on campus, which is present all year round but is especially tangible during football season. Even though we were sanctioned last year and still cannot participate in post-season play, there is absolutely nothing better than gameday at USC and being in the student section at the coliseum. The band's awesome, the tailgates are awesome, the whole experience is just...awesome. There's so much energy. We also dominate at other sports like water polo and tennis.

Guys & Girls:
There is no one-size fits all model of student at University of Southern California. It is a representation of the diverse city it is in. There are Asian, Caucasian, Black, Hispanic, preppy, athletic, attractive, unattractive. The looks really run the gambit.

there are multiple shuttle spots on campus that can take you places; however, they are a bit of a hassle. i often take campus cruiser, which is a fairly good system, except on really busy nights. we often would walk if the campus cruiser was going to take to long, which is a problem since we live in LA. we would ride our bikes often, which was a more effective mode of transportation at times. i have my own car on campus so i don't take public transportation. there are shuttles to some places such as LA Live and to the airport.

Greeks Are Very Dominant on Campus – i am in a sorority and love it. i would recommend others to join when they are a freshmen because it is a way to get instantly involved with the school and to make a ton of great friends. there is a downfall because greek life at USC has received much negative publicity this past year, which reflects poorly upon everyone involved. i would love to see USC greek life reach its full potential like it has in the past. it is terrible for the row to close and to shut down the fun. i hope to see us improve and hopefully have less problems this year.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
