Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

USC is a lenient campus, but plagiarism, acts of hate, theft, violence, and reckless drug and alcohol abuse are not tolerated when displayed publicly. These offenses can result in failing classes, losing housing privileges, and expulsion if the offense is severe enough. RAs have a reputation for lenience in freshman housing, but students on bad terms with RAs tend to get in trouble for partying more than other people do. Remember, when it all comes down to it, RAs are students just like you, so treat them like you would anyone else, with respect and courtesy, yet understand that they have a job to do, and they’re only there to help. The University is not out to catch USC students for getting wild from time to time.

While the school seems lax about rule bending, it is more that students are not out to get wild. Once President Sample began cracking down on the reckless behavior of fraternities, parties became more mellow and now have little effect on the academic ideals of the University. As long as students seem to be acting safely and with respect for the community, no one is bothered.

Constant Partying

In general, DPS do not interfere with social activities unless other people call in to complain or accidents get out of hand.

Police Force

The police keep the row extremely safe, and they're not too strict about underage drinking unless it becomes a safety hazard. They are all friendly and very helpful.

Generally Laid Back

If you're intoxicated, people are willing, and then some, to help you to make sure you are safe more than anything else. The police understand that this is a school where a lot of partying goes on and their goal is just to make sure everyone's safe. They're not going to arrest hundreds of underage drinkers.
