College Prowler Take
The drug scene is considerably tame for a wealthy school in the middle of a city that is famous for partying. Drinking is a daily custom in most fraternity houses at USC, especially when girls are around. On campus, drinking is prevalent but more discrete. Although more conservative social circles claim to be opposed to smoking and abusing heavier drugs, students are not blind to the fact that people get drunk and stoned at parties. Basically, the wildest party-goers, mostly affluent Greek students, seek out cocaine and usually find it if they are willing to spend big bucks. For the most part, there is a lot of drinking, less marijuana smoking (but still a significant amount), and a small amount of cocaine and ecstasy abuse, usually reserved for big party nights. Hallucinogenic mushrooms hit campus occasionally and are usually bought up by marijuana smokers seeking a more intense high. For a school that was famous during the '80s and '90s for having the best cocaine in the West, USC has tamed down considerably. Even coffee, cigarettes, and Ritalin, three staple drugs for fast-moving students all over the country, are not very popular at USC, probably due to the fact that people are more health conscious here than in most other places.

Drinking, Smoking, Little Else Is Evident
B
Drinking is extremely common. Smoking cigarettes or weed is very common. Other drugs like Vicodin or cough syrup are somewhat common. I haven't personally come across many people who take it further than that, but I'm sure you could find some if thats what you're looking for.

USC has a lot of pot and some cocaine. Pot’s big, as is alcohol. Cocaine is harder to find, and usually only exists among the local, wealthier group of kids. I’ve never had a run-in with it. |

Honestly, I think that a university is what you make of it. If you are looking for drugs, you will find them. If you don’t want to get involved, you won’t. I have never been offered drugs. I have friends who do them and friends who don’t. |

Let’s see . . . there’s a lot of weed and some ‘shrooms. Coke and meth aren’t too big, but I’ve seen it come through. ‘E’ was big for a while, but I think people are getting over that. I guess it’s mostly weed. |

Drugs are really not that big. I do know people who do drugs. It’s definitely discouraged in the Greek system. I believe you can be kicked out for drugs. |
